Color cartridge won't print/ black and white is fine

My color cartridge won't work and it's brand new. What is the problem?

My printer is a Lexmark Z35

I tried this and colour appears on the cloth but will not print in colour at all!

Hi Franelyn !!

giving u some steps so that you get anser to ur question that why your color ink cartrideg is not workign

It might be beacuse of faulty printheads of printer or fauly printheads of cartridge

To check which one is faulty : take a tissue or cloth ...slightly moistened it with water an dtry to clean nozzles of cartridg and observe that some ink is coming out from cartridge or not , if not shake the cartrideg again clean its nozzles , if still no ink comes out that will ensure that the cartride is bad

Do a Clean Printhead operation.
This will usually correct the problem.

I want to print using my lexmark X6170 but I don't want to print color so I didn't put a color cartridge in. It keeps coming up with an error message and won't print at all.

Some printers require you to have the color cartridges in them even when you are printing black and white. You usually can in your print options choose black and white over color.

I just installed a Lexmark 2500. It came with an ink cartridge (color) I purchased a black cartridge and installed it but it does not seem to be working. How do you darken the ink on this printer. It seems...

start
control panel
printer and fax
right click your printer, choose properties
go tab by tab and look for print quality and then try
something like this
choose econo mode, or ink saving mode to start.

try to print in grayscale mode and use only the black ink cartridge.

that should be your new default, and you don~t have to change it from winthin other programs

Lexmark X5150 black ink cartridges won't print

The original Lexmark-branded 81 and 82 cartridges shouldn't cause a problem - regardless of the country of origin. I can't speak to any reman or refills, because quality varies widely. Have you contacted Lexmark's technical support - accessible via www.lexmark.com? There should be a solution for the Lexmark-branded cartridges. If that doesn't work, put one of the "bad" Lexmark cartridges in their recycling bag and include a note about your problem, including your email address.

if you look at the options in the printer there should be an option to use the color cartridge to print black. How does this work? Lexmark X1185 printer will not print color......everything else works fine

the ink is clogged not the cartridge but were the ink feeds into the printer. there should be a cleaner tab in the printer preference tab if available
