I have the same problem, face plate will not stay down.... The 11 conductor flex ribbon cable going to the face plate is bad. Several of the conductors are broken. I have tried e-mailing Dual for parts information but have yet to hear anything from them. Anyone know a source for this flex cable.

Had the same problem, traced to the ribbon cable and tried to fix it but only made it worse by melting the ribbon with a solder iron. You can try to do a better job with a smaller low wattage solder iron by taping it so it does not move and using metal barrier to protect the areas you do not want to solder. There are some web sites about repairing ribbon cables that will give better instructions. One of them suggests using wire glue or metal epoxy. As above, no response from Dual Service other than one of their support centers finally getting back to me with we don't have the part.

After haranging Dual AV customer support and getting nothing. Their tech support AB tech services got the part and mailed it to me. Works great now.
Try [email protected] and keep after them until Dual sends them another ribbon cable.
