Although it is annoying when you see a scratch, most scratches can't be seen on a picture. Unless it is very deep and in the centre. The only problem is, you easy can get a lens flare.
If you can live with the scratch, forget that it is there and only avoid light shining on the front lens from the side. My DX7590, still has a perfect lens, but I can't shoot, because my mode dial and joystick don't work any more. I still enjoy the pictures I took with that camera.
I think its 2 ton.replacements are avalible but not 10SEER.12+SEER replacement available.maybe time to upgrade?Give mod. # off the compressor to confirm your size.
dont know about replacement but someone I know had a bottle of CD scratch remover and tried it one day, it worked wonders. They also confirmed that McGuiers plastic polish does an amazing job. Take your time, apply multiple times, and use a lint free sunglass wipe to apply and buff with.
The mode dial is part of a larger assembly. Here's instructions on replacement of a similar S30. Don't recommend that you try this unless you have some familiarity with electronics, and a lot of patience. Above all keep track of all your screws as they're all different sizes:
needs replacement! In warranty no problem, otherwise you will have to pay maybe not too much. On your own you may try to disassemble it and try cleaning the contact brushes and metal stripes. Problem may be caused by dirt.
