Re: TOSHIBA 35 TV 35A44
Don`t know if this will work for yours but I have heard of menu coming up all by itself randomly and the fix was to remove the batteries from the cable boxes remote and the tv`s remote, partially stuck on buttons were the cause, replaced the remote end of problem, hope this helps on yours.

I spent hte whole day moving my girlfriend and the only thing I got out of it was a TV with no sound coming out of it. I turned the speakers "on" in the menu screen, then i used the speaker output of the tv to a stereo or a couple of cheap speakers. Or connect 1 speaker and set the tv to mono. Hopefully your tv has some form of audio out besides the built in speakers. Good Luck
toshiba 35a44 I had in shop would not turn on initially, when Qa01 was replaced I was able to turn tv on, but after a couple of minutes volume went all the way down, vol display bar on screen and power and menu keys would not work, remote control function did not mater. after replacement of QA02 mpu no results. desoldered volume down and up keys and sprayed chassis with flux remover on both sides of chassis and sumerged vol keys in alcohol solutions for 10 minutes, restored them in chassis and the problem was corrected. QA01 and QA02 did not had to be replaced there was a contaminant problem on solder flux that was causing the problem.
