Load music on my ipod

Connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cable that came with your iPod. The iPod screen should say "Do not disconnect".

Your iPod should appear under Devices in the bar to the left.

Decide whether you want to sync your iPod with your iTunes library or manually put songs on your iPod.(nano only)

Syncing your iPod will automatically add all of the songs in your library to your iPod. It will also delete any songs from your iPod that are not in your library. Click on your iPod icon and select Sync in the lower right corner.

If you do not want all the songs in your library on your iPod, make a playlist of all the songs you do want, or decide which playlists you want to include on your iPod.

Click on your iPod icon
On the top bar, click on the button which says "Music"

Make sure the box that says "Sync Music" is checked, then check the box for whether you want your iPod to sync with the entire library or selected playlists. If you click selected playlists, select the playlists you want in the playlists category. For newer iPods you can check which artists are included on your iPod to automatically import all the songs from each selected artist onto your iPod

My mp4 deletes songs when I try to put new ones on it why?

hi,
if you sync you iPod , all the music in the iPod will be deleted.
what you need to do is to click on your iPod icon when you connect it to the computer and then check "Manually manage music".
then you need to create a playlist, put all the songs you want to add in your iPod, then under the iPod click on Music, and you will see "Autofill from:" below the window.
select the playlist yu created and click on autofill.
thus the songs will be added without deleting the ones which were already on the iPod.

I want to delete old playlist then add new

Open iTunes and plug in your iPod, select your iPod in the list to the side in iTunes. Now you'll see little tabs near the top of the iTunes window, click the one that says "Music." check the box that says "Sync selected playlists," now uncheck the playlist you are currently syncing your iPod with. Now, to create a new playlist look way down at the bottom left side of the iTunes window, you'll see a little button with a + sign, click it. Doing that will create a new playlist, now just drag and drop music into the playlist! Then go back to where you unchecked the playlist you were syncing your iPod with and select your new playlist.
hope this helps!

Deleting files and adding new ones

when you plug your ipod in to itunes a menu will come up personal to your ipod, there are around 5 categorys and one is specific to music and the playlists, you simply chose the playlists you wish to put on your ipod

Music no longer on ipod

What youve probably done is unselected the playlists that was previously on your ipod so you could sync the new playlists. By doing this the ipod would automatically delete the old songs off your ipod and then sync the new ones. I'm guessing youve managed to upload new songs onto your ipod?

It could also be your using a different computer and by syncing the ipod to a new computer it would automatically delete previous playlists.

I suggest using a programme called sharepod where you dont need to use itunes and is much more simpler. The link is below.
