Question about Sharper Image Ionic Breeze 3.0 Air Purifier
I clean my unit religiously, but the red cleaning required light turned on and won't re-set. I have cleaned the unit, blown air into it, and even turned it upside down. How can I get the unit to re-set?
I just came across this site: http://www.infomercialscams.com/defenses/ionic_breeze
the first post from a person who just raves about the item suggested putting the grid back in after cleaning and holding it upside down for 30 seconds. I did this - actually did it a little longer because I was reading the rest of the posting. IT WORKED! I had tried and tried to get the red light off by cleaning it, but it didn't work. This must be way to reset it. When I first turned it on, it started to blink again, and then I turned it off and on again and it is working great. I AM SO EXCITED. I also turned it upside down and upright several more times after I held it upside down for the 30 plus seconds. I hope this helps!

If under 5 years should be under warranty and just got off the phone with them if you have cleaned it and it still does it probably a mechanical malfunction. Only thing on mine that works now is the light should be sending back after holidays though. Everytime have had a problem and think it comes from living in a very old high traffic house that causes mine to quit even though clean them, but probably not as often as I should.

SOURCE: Red Cleaning Light won't turn off
If the cleaning light stays red it is do to a failure of the nichrome wire sensor that detects deposit build up. This wire is locatied in the center where the grids are removed and easily broken. It runs from top to bottom twice. Look inside and if you see a loose wire that looks like a fine thread that is your problem. Not a do it yourself job.

I have the same problem. The light stays red and I am scared to leave it running. I assume it won't function while the light is red
Yup...and the Boost does not work. It's clearly not working but is getting power. Is there a way to reset it?
We've cleaned the filer and the red clean filter light won't go off. When you turn the machine back on, it will not run because the clean filter light is on. The manual is useless. There doesn't seem to be a way to reset the light so that the machine will start cleaning the air again. I'm calling customer service tomorrow.
2nd QUADRA / SAME PROBLEM AFTER ONLY A FEW MONTHS OLD!
I have two units, each about a year old. I have cleaned elements and taken the front gril off and cleaned the two vertical wires with beads on it as well as internal surfaces, but to no avail.
The occurance of this problem seems to be correlated with having cleaned the carpets. While I waited until the carpets were adequately dried to use the Ionic Breeze Air Purifiers, I noticed that when vacuuming that there is a white powder which to this day is still accumulated in the vacuume filter.
Don't know what this white powder is, but suspect that it may have buggered whatever senser it is that the Ionic Breeze is using to sense whether or not the elements are clean.
Has anyone found a solution.
Same problem. I've cleaned the unit and "Cleaning Light" won't turn off, and other operating modes apparently blocked. Anyone have an answer???
I will keep this short and to the point. I have the same problem except i own the MIDI. What can I do to fix this problem?
MIDI unit- red light does not turn off
red
red light never goes off
Have cleaned everything. This is the 2nd unit since the first one did the same thing and they replaced it. I guess this is the norm for this company.
This is my 2nd replacement unit and it has the same problem.
red light won't clear and unit doesn't work
Red light flashes, unit doesn't work. refuses to boost. I cleaned it, took off the grills and blew it out with compressed air. Cleaned the conductor posts with mek.
Red light will not clear. Unable to rest unit. What can I do?
