Screen Problems I have had my phone for about 6months now, and for the last month i have had a problem with the screen fading to white. I will be typing a text or dialing a # and it just fades. It does not turn off when it fades- i replaced the battery already. It also does not cut out on calls when it fades. The problem is I cant see who is calling me or what im typing.... Is there anything i can do?

I have the exact same problem and i've had the phone replaced twice already but after a couple of months in seems like the problem comes right back up.

I had my display do this also, it was the LCD connection riboon. you can buy an LCD on eabay and have a good repair shop install it. I did it myself but its not easy.

It maybe that the hinges on your laptop have gone bad. The hinges house the wires that connect the video card to your display. Your problem sounds like a case of worsening hinges. Do you see looseness around the area or hear extra sounds as you're opening and closing the lid?

It could also be that your video card and / or actual LCD screen are going bad.
All of which are pricey fixes.

Hope this helped. I wouldn't buy that battery if I were you just yet.

A software upgrade would appear to be the answer.
Have you gone online to RIM and downloaded the latest version of your OS? If you haven't I suggest that it may fix your problem. If it doesn't, get back to your supplier and try and get it replaced.

You have a loose connection on the cable for the screen. The case of the laptop must be removed and the cable reseated in its connector and the problem will be gone.

Verizon has been having many problems with this phone, and i am not sure why they continue to sell it. Mine is just over 6months old, and has had its fair share of problems ranging from shutting off and telling me it had an invallid battery (this was after having it for 3months), and now after just over 6months its screen going blank, or freezing. Id take it back to them for a replacement, or turn the phone off and lightly hit it against your thigh and turning it back on.

sounds like the lcd screen went bad due to water danamge/humitity. problems with water damage is they can start rite away or several month down the road. if you have phone insurance, use it.

Red lines on right hand side of the screen now no picture on right hand side!

I'm not an expert, but I have determined that the vertical bars that are often red, sometimes blue ... and sometimes both ... are related to a bad control board. I've also read that a common fix is to buy a repair kit with includes the ysus, zsus and control boards ... all replaced together. My experience was that after a month or two with the 1.5" wide stripes, that you eventually loose the entire picture and have sound only. MIne comes back, but won't stay working for very long and the stripes are always there (buy used to fade and flicker sometimes). I'm planning on replacing the control board.

This might be a hardware as well as software problem. As on hardware part the chip which is interacting with the screen and the processor of the handset get heated up and so ur screen fades too white in 5 min . on the software part may be a virus issue . Kindely get ur handset scanned with a antivirus .concern with some hardware expert also.
