I was under the impression that Win2000 was no longer supported by Microsoft and in which case new files are no longer obtainable for the system. Reference: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/260910 I would download the latest VGA driver for Win2000 from Compaq and install that before you run SP4. Hope that helps.
Try download HDD Regenerator v1.51.iso and burn as image onto CD. Boot the Win2K with this, scan the complete HD if it's not totally dead. If it was a bad sector on partition table/MBR or some critical files, hopefully this great tool will fix it! Good luck!
OK, try installing the free winzip program from winzip.com. It is most likely that the files were packed using a version thaqt Microsoft's unzip program just can't handle. It's not that rubust of a program anyway.
Then try unzipping those files with winzip. it should unzip fine without any trouble.
The SFC command should also be on the Windows CD itself as well. Try running the command from the CD drive at a command prompt.

I found a solution for the 'battery' charge in Windows 2000. Just when windows 2000 ask for a driver, choose select driver, and make it use the 'Digital Camera' driver. In the spanish version of Windows 2000 the driver its inside 'Punto de ignicion' -> Camara digital'
In english, just roll over all the drivers until you see the windows default driver for cameras.
Now my iPhone with 1.1.4 without xtra programs its working supper (at least the battery its filling up).
