Hey there ppl.
I had the same problem every time i turned on my hp psc 1510 all-in-one. I found the solution to the problem on hp's homepage. Here is the link:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01336348&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=428800
its quite easy! but if it does not work the first time i would try again before having it repaired og changing the ink.
good luck to you all

I have a hp psc 1350 all-in-one, what the 'guest' suggested does not work at all. what i got is just a waste of several more pages and some inks!

I followed the directions posted by "guest" on Dec. 13th as suggested. All this did was waste more ink on test pages. I've scanned pictures to make sure the scan feature still works thinking maybe it isn't alligning the cartridges cause the scanner went bad. The scan feature still works. I believe the only solution for this problem is to simply leave the printer on all the time.
I dismantled my printer to hopefully find a reason for its paper feed problem. It would jam up on the left side as it was printing the page. When I opened it up I found a piece of black wiring lying in the paper path. I removed the wire which wasn't connected to anything and reassembled the printer. It now works fine other than the test page issue. I should note that my printer was a "remanufactured" printer and no longer had a valid warranty.

Well as it seams u have given the order to ur pc to prin a test page before....but it wasnt responting so u keeped pressing the bottom..! so to fix that u can go to contro panel>printers and faxes and there u can find ur printers name...after that duble-click on ur printer and it shows a printer dialog...then delete ALL the documents that is ready to print...after that u r ready to print again!! but always remember that if u "say" to ur printer to print a page and it doesnt respont as soon as posible, it doesnt mean it wont print!! just click ONCE the print bottom the other time :)

The clue is here:
<excerpt>
Courtney:
Disconnect the USB cable from the all-in-one.
Courtney:
Place the test page face down on the scanner glass and press Scan. The alignment is complete when the On light stops blinking.

The problem is that each time you replace a printer cartridge the printer wants to reallign itself. You simply need to take the test page and scan it to help the printer do this.
Once done, the problem should resolve itself until the next time you replace a print cartridge.

My HP1510 prints a test page everytime I turn it on. It didn't do this before I changed out the black cartridge. I put it on the scanner and press the scan button exactly like it says to do. The scanner goes across the page and the power light stops blinking like its supposed to.It still prints the page everytime I power it up. I'm not a fan of leaving it on all the time and I've never manually prompted the unit to print the test page. I've reinstalled both cartridges countless times yet the problem still persists.
We have had this printer for about two years or so and we have always had this problem. I would love to find the solution because I am sick of buying the ink cartridges (which aren't cheap and run out way too fast!)
same problem,,, it prints a test page every time we turn it on! wasteful..
This problem has driven me crazy from the start of owning this machine. I get the feeling that I am being deliberately ripped off by HP. So much so that this printer is now only a backup to a very cheap lexmark printer so the plan is not working for HP.
