ew. you might consider getting a new camera if the 256 mb sd card was standard for your camera.
cameras nowadays are advancing at a break neck speed, and if you get a replacement for what you paid for the hp photosmart m415, I can assure that you will have less compatibility issues and more capacity for pictures and videos with sound, resolution, etc.
I know it is tough to part with old technologies, but when it comes to cameras it pays to update.
You have a) got to remove some pictures on it b) if you have lots on it but dont want to delete any, buy another card. c)if you think you should be able to get much more on it, then you need to copy off anything you want to keep (onto a pc or cd) and then use the camera to 'format' the card. Sometimes images and videos can be using space after you have deleted them, and this is the only way to get it all back.
YOU WILL HAVE TO FORMAT THE NEW CARD AND RESET YOUR CAMERA TO FACTORY SETTINGS. If you BING the m517 it will give you all the specs. you need. If you go to hp.com on the first page look for trouble shooting a product. Type in you m517 and you will get all the required info. Hope this was of some help to you.
