How can i broadcast my webcam in yahoo chat, It always say "SERVER IS BUSY, Try AGAIN LATER"
I have fixed YM preferences, such as no proxies, connections and other options in yahoo messenger but still i get this "SERVER is BUSY" i hate it, i cant even accept/view webcam of other people. My camera is fine when i am using it offline (A4 tech camera). I am running Windows XP SP 2, with VISTA transformation look. I have Globe wireless internet connection which is running good. Sometimes the camera works if i am patient in clicking many times and waiting till it connects, but most of the time it is "SERVER is BUSY" which makes the hell out of it. Please help anyone expert enough to solve this. thanks guys!
I used to get this when I was on dial-up but never since going broadband - so the bandwidth may be fragile. You need to interrogate what is happening when the webcam is transmitting by opening the webcam menu on the webcam frame and click "statistics" Its best to transmit the "small" image and use the zoom 200% when established ( same as sending large photos by email ) - if I go for speed rather than quality on the slider I can achieve 5-6 frames per second ( small size) but I normally transmit about 1-2 f/s. I have my webcam under VFW (video for windows) control as I used to get freeze problems. This involves a registry change - detailed in Messenger help
You can tell when its under VFW control because VFW will be on the bottom of the Statistics box. You may need a little bit of software to make it work, if like me you do not have Directx on your pc - if so download the software featured here.
Dont worry about using the proxy server in "Connections" - Use it when you have to - I had to use it today to make my my webcam work - I also had to increase my virtual memory but that was as a result of error messages

I haven't seen that message since I was on dial-up connection, using msn and yahoo messenger - so I think you have a resource problem and operating below the bandwidth for webcam broadcasts. Since upgrading to broadband 3 years ago its been OK.
well i dont thing it s your cam you have to check and see if you get good internet conection update your messenger memory slow in your pc could olso a cause
Yahoo software is not noted for its generosity regarding webcams You need to track what is happening during transmission. From the webcam frame menu click 'webcam' click 'statistics' from here you can see your frames per second. Do a few tests while broadcasting adjusting the slider (click 'file' click 'preferences') to improve quality ( at the expense of speed). If the fps drops to 0.0 your picture will be frozen. You can also adjust your camera settings from here Depending on your resources - internet speed - memory etc, will dictate the fps. The object of the exercise is to achieve maximum quality with a reasonable fps. Personally, I found the fps very erratic and about 0.0 to 3.0 with later mods the highest I could achieve was a modest 0.0 to 6.0 you may do better. carry out the Yahoo mod to the registry http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger9/webcam/mstacamfix.html Download the microsoft software http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger9/webcam/mstatestcamie.html The webcam should now be controlled by VFM ( seen at the bottom of the statistics window) Finally do your tests again, I transmit my image as 'small' ( 'webcam' > 'image size' ) and the contacts use 'Zoom' > '200%' to restore. this is to preserve what little resources I have.
in your YM.. open the Messenger tool bar.. then.. My Web cam.. then.. .Preferences.. then Camera source... and select the installed webcam.. and see how it works..
how can i install my A4tech viewcam i don't hav the cd and my cou does not have cd driver? how can i install cause I lost my cd driver for A4tech viewcam camera
!st, let me explain the problem more clearer, then I'll explain the solution.
Problem) My camera worked fine. Even when logging on to Yahoo messenger, i could still veiw myself when chatting. But when I clicked on the "broadcast" button, the "idle" status would change to "connecting" for a few seconds. Then the the following message would pop up, " The server is busy, Please close this window & try again in a few minutes".
Solution) In Yahoo messenger, click on "Messenger", scroll down & click on "preferences". In Category:, click on "connection". Make sure that "no proxies" is selected.
