SOURCE: Camera turns on for three seconds, beeps three times, then stops.

It's the optical zoom. The motor that pushes it in and out died.

SOURCE: Samsung camera power-on problem and beeping

Camera got dropped..had the same problem here, looked after reading this and the smallest part of the telescoping lense was just a little tilted. Gently moved it out and popped it back, works fine now. Another thank you for the tip!

SOURCE: samsung s630 camera

Finallly sent it in for repair - two times! First time, it took several weeks before I got it back. When it arrived it still would not work, so it had to be sent in again. Then they tell me I broke the camera myself so if they are to send it back (unrepaired) I would have to pay them $50. At this time, paying shipping costs back and forth I figured it wouldnt be cost effective. All together it cost me a total of $200 for 15 pictures taken with the first battery set, which after it would do nothing but beep three times. Some people mention the cause being that they dropped it, but I never did, it was like that straight out of the box.

SOURCE: three beeps when i try to turn it on

i had the same problem a while back. I fooled around with my camera lens a bit and it turned out that one side of the lens was sticking out a bit. I pressed down on this and pushed the power button and it worked. The next time I turned it on the same thing happened but if you keep doing the same thing it should work.

Hope this helps!

Samsung Digimax S800 camera won't turn on. Beeps three times.

This explains the 3 beeps. also says you can get it repaired which is by far the best option. The behaviour is very typical of low battery state. Try a set of Lithium batteries.

Insignia camera turns off with three beeps

The camera is trying to turn on, but either the lens is stuck, causing an overload in an effort to turn the motor that, through gears, extends the lens. That's a common problem, and the 2nd most common problem is that the batteries are not holding enough charge to drive the motor, contacts are dirty, things like that. There are 2 excellent web blogs that detail the problems, and what you can check and try. Here they are:

Good luck, and hope this helps.

S85 camera will not turn on just beeps three times

I figured out the fix:
Take the batteries out, put them back in and close the battery cover. Next, turn on the camera and before it can finish the three beep sequence, open up the battery cover(disconnecting the battery power). Close the battery cover (reconnecting the batteries) and switch on the camera. It may take a couple of tries, but it seems to be a "poor man's reset"
