I have had a 42 inch Samsung plasma screen tv for about two years now. Occasionally, the screen would turn itself off (i.e. just go blank, but with the sound still on) after a variable time of around 2 hours of being on. After 5-10 minutes, the screen would fire back up again. Recently, the problem has got worse - the screen turns itself off every 5-15 minutes and then doesn't come back on for 5-15 minutes, i.e. it is not working half the time.
When the screen is on it does not appear that there is any problem but then the screen just goes off (with the power light and everything else staying on). It almost appears like a random screen saver (I have disabled the screensaver function).
I was wondering if you had any advice as to what may be causing this problem and, if necessary, how much I should be looking to pay to repair it.
Many thanks
William
It seams that your tv is high heated or it is needed to change some of the tranzistors... as it seams the damage isnt realy bad..but it need an "experts hand" to be fixed

my tv is doing the same thing who do i call? samsung? whats the number? is it free? how much would it cost?
I have the same problem. When the TV is cold, it takes longer before it suddenly turning itself off. After that it does not last more than 5 minutes. I figured out it could have something to do with an initial power surge that caused a component(s) to behave erratically. Any specific solutions?
