512k connection problems

I live in a village and we have only a 512k broadband. The problem is that between the hours of 8 and 6pm in the week, we cannot sustain a connection for more than a few minutes. I am presuming that there is such a demand or perhaps heavy business use which is preventing us from connecting. Is there anything we can do ??? It is extremely frustrating.

If you are having the same problem in other Apps or devices, then it is your internet provider that might have a problem.

I just bought this router and am trying to get it connect with a Verison wirelss USB mobile broadband. How can I connect it to my computer and an Xbox 360?

For Verizon i found that Currently, the DIR-412 Mobile Broadband Wireless Router is the only D-Link router that is 3G compatible. The DIR-412 supports 3G USB adapters complying with HSUPA/HSDPA/EV-DO/TD-SCDMA networks and works with most major cellular carriers (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, Rogers, Telus, Bell, etc).
D-Link routers empower gamers to easily connect their Microsoft Xbox to network and experience lag-free online gaming. All you need is a D-Link router to go along with your broadband connection and Xbox Live subscription and you can go head to head with friends and adversaries from around the world.

The D-Link DI-624 Wireless Broadband Router, DI-614+ Wireless Broadband Router, and the D-Link DI-604 Broadband Router have all passed the tests for compatibility with Microsoft Xbox Live with specific firmware. Just download the specific compatible firmware listed below to your D-Link router before connecting to Xbox Live.

  • Click here to upgrade your firmware.
  • Click here for Xbox Live setup instructions with a router.
  • For Xbox Live support, please visit www.xbox.com.

your internet connection is not strong enough for the xbox live sevice... it may be week and have short connection failures, causing it to say that, try pluging directly into your broadband instead of using a router

    Can't connecct to Google/gmail

These computers are temperamental things, aren't they?! I worked this morning with a tech in live chat for an hour or more. FINALLY, the solution was as simple as setting the date on the computer properly! Don't ask me why this problem caused this particular difficulty.. Now if I can only remember that the next time it happens.

Might be just your network connection, go on system settings and then network to change to different ones.

    Xbox live is not working

How are you connecting Your Xbox console upto your Internet ? if your Connecting Via WiFi, Make sure you have the Xbox compatible WiFi adaptor, if you are connecting Via a Local Area network, Ensure that your Console is hooked up Directly to Your Router, and if your connecting Via a Shared internet connection thru a PC, Ensure it is Hooked up correctly and also that your computer is set up to allow sharing the internet connection, That sometimes makes Xbox live faulty.

Also another problem for IP addresses not working is Due to your Internet service provider, Some broadband companies constantly renew IP addresses changing them every so often which the Xbox doesnt like. I would suggest contacting your Service provider and seeing if they have any Technical Support !
