Either it has moisture in it (let it dry), or the dew sensor is bad and needs to be replaced.

SANYO VIDIO CAMERA SHOWS "DEW" DAMP INDICATOR

Seldom have I seen these go on that it was a "false alarm" - usually there is some kind of dampness inside. Try setting the camera in a MILDLY warm place, opening up any doors/port covers it has. As for a sample of a mildly warm spot, I have used my cable box to dry things out before. It runs around 100 degrees F, not hot enough to damage anything. Note, of course: Never put anything dripping wet on something like that. And make sure you don't cover more than a small percentage of any vent holes on the item supplying the gentle warmth.

The main thing is be PATIENT. Don't expect the problem to be solved in 5 minutes. Put it there in a gently warm spot and check on it in the morning. Once thoroughly dried out, it should stay that way with reasonable care.

Shows dew on the screen and don't work properly . The tape isn't accept

The dew indicator means that the internal condensation sensor has been triggered. Usually these will permanently disable the camera, but I have seen it reverse. Keep the camera in an opened state in a completely dry environment for a few hours or even up to a week (it can take that long). If after a week of sitting open unused the error still shows then you will need to replace the camera.

WILL NOT HOLD A CASSETTE. VIDEO ERROR READS

normal dew indication is from moisture if you can find any desicant out of pill bottle sometimes in new electronics the desicant can be ractivated by placin in oven at 220 degrees basically above boiling point
15 to 20 minutes let desicant cool place camara and desicant in tight sealed container or plastic bag let set overnight see if moisture problem goes away

Help

Dew means...humidity in camera. Power goes to Off for protection because tape or video head can be damaged if humidity at video head. Blow Dryer for 2-3 minutes in camera while in cassette compartment is Open. Hope after that camera will be ok.

Dew indicator

The dew sensor is right around the pinch roller area. Sometimes the connection to it gets a bit poor. Try resoldering the two connections on the sensor. This may resolve the problem.

DEW indicator / battery

In your owners manual on page 52 you will find a list of authorized service centers. Give the one in your area a call. Give them the brand name and model number of the camcorder. Tell them you are having a problem with the dew warning coming on while using the camera with the battery. They should be able to help find a answer to this problem. You can also call the panasonic customer support telephone number at 1-800-211-7262 between the hours of 9am-7pm EST. Give them the brand name and model number of the camcorder and ask them for help with the problem of dew indicator coming on while in use with the battery. I hope this information helps you with your camcorder problem.

Dew detected eject tape

I have the same problem with my PV-DV103. Panasonic wants more to TRY and fix it than the camera cost new. MY advise can the camera and buy one without the DEW option.
Thats what I am searching for presently . If the manufacturer says the camera has a dew indicator in the circuit - buy elseware.

I get the DEW indication and cam shuts off

try to dry up your camera using electric hair blower drier, dew is present inside your camera, but dont overheat the unit, place your hand between drier and cam to make sure you are not overheating it. if the trouble is still there, the sensor is defective and you need pro fix.

Panasonic camcorder (NV-DS65) - Dew Indicator Problem

I found this on another site, but it WORKED great for me, and was a VERY easy fix, so I suggest everyone to try it before you go disassembling your camera. I know this sounds very stupid, but it actually somehow fixed my problem, so everyone should give it a go:

1) Turn the camera on.

2) When the dew icon is displayed, take off the battery and then hit/smack the spot on the camera where the battery goes a couple of times (not overly hard, but with some force).

3) Put the battery back and see if it's fixed. If it isn't, repeat the whole procedure. It took me about four tries but now miraculously my camera seems to be working, for the first time in about 3-4 years!!!

NOTE: I don't know what the exact "fixing" spot is, so I just hitted different places of the battery spot (both the upper and lower region). Take it easy first and don't hit too hard, see if it works and try again putting more force if necessary. I still can't believe this solved the problem, wish I'd tried it back when the problem first occured!

NOTE #2: I think this fix will probably also work on some other Panasonic cameras with the same dew problem - in fact, I think the guy who originally came up with this solution actually had a different camera model than I do.. I know it's a late reply, but hopefully this helps at least someone!
