Computer keeps crashing. MB or HD? Soltek SL86MIP L

Hi there,

I wonder if there is something I can do with my motherboard. My computer keeps crashing n displaying the blue screen with different problems all the time. I dont have any of the drivers from my motherboard. So I am asumming the most be something with that. Should I buy a new motherboard? 'Couse I can find any place to download the drivers. Thx!!

    Got a PVM900m,running on xp service pack 2 . problem is the machine cant install the video drivers provided in tthe motherboard cd, ive installed so many drivers from the internet but non is working.
    Question 1. Does installing drivers more than once affect the pc because am experiencing frequent crashes.a blue screen with xxxstop.error messages. How do i know i got drivers conflict? How do i uninstall all these unwanted drivers? Right away the machine just died it boots shows win xp logo and then a silver screen and nothing happens afterwards!!!
    2) I got this snapshot a few days before crashing from display properties what is this ?

Manufacturers website is the best place for drivers. You could also have other compatability or hardware issues. Try the drivers first. If the computer is stable in safe mode, then I would say driver issues. If it is unstable in safe mode, then it is possibly something else.

try replacing or swapping the hard drive with another machine and see if it happens again and on which machine if both machine's crash both MB and HD could be bad, If your machine with different HD works fine then it most likely was the HD If not then the MB might be at fault

Hy...a have soltek sl-85sid motherborad...i have 1,5 ghz pentium 4 socket 478 and wated to replace this cpu with intel pentium 4 3,0ghz/1M/800...i cant find motherboard reviews so i dont know does this...
It won't work.
That motherboard only supports 400Mhz FSB. The P4 3.0Ghz CPU is 800Mhz FSB.

Absolutly try here....http://www.newegg.com/ your MB has the following features just look for a socket 754 MB on newegg sized the same as your current MB...taht should do the trick for you.

Hi, does the pc load up to bios and does the pc power up, how did you reset cmos was it by the jumper or by the battery if you done one try the other. If none of that works, you may off blew or damages the power supply unit, you could of also damaged the motherboard which can happen because this same thing happened to me. and the cpu may have been damaged. get back to me with more details of what i said above and are see what i can do for you. Thanks
