Question about Packard Bell Easy One Silver 2101 Notebook
HI
I've just got a laptop for our daughter but not sure what I need to buy in order to be able to use it with the ISP I have on our home computer.
We bought it off a mate so its got no instruction book or leads.
I just want to get it working against our broadband connection so she can use it upstairs.
Any advice would be appreciated
Hi,
As you already have a broadband at your house, its going to be very easy for you to connect the notebook in the same network.
I would assume that right now your computer would be connected directly to a DSL/Cable modem.
What you should do at this stage is that you can buy a Wireless Router.
The computer that you are using at the moment might be a desktop and may not be wireless capable.
So your Wireless router would be placed right next to your desktop and the desktop would be connected using a wire to the same router.
Your router which is wireless capale will let your notebook also connect to the internet. I am stressing on the wireless as you mentioned that the notebook will be on a different floor.
Note :- I have given this suggestion assuming that the notebook you have bought is wireless capable.
If it is not than you will have to pull a wire up to the other room and you can buy a normal router as well.
Hope that you find this as a good suggestion.
Thanks
Sammy
