I have a Nokia 6820, which worked well for a couple of years. Recently it started giving problems with the display. After several trips to Nokia Care - and temporary fixes - the display is now permanently out. They recommend replacing the display, but for the expense, I might as well go for a newer model.
Question is: now my power does not turn on. It doesn't seem to charge either. Pressing the power button does nothing. I need to get my phonebook and all else downloaded. I have my Nokia PC Suite, but without bringing up blue tooth how do I get it synched to my PC? What can I do to turn the power on.
Unplug battery for 5 mins. plug back in and before powering on plug the charger to it. if there is a charging indicator light then this will tell you if the connection with your battery is dead. if it powers on then all you need to do is call your provider and they have the phone hand book to walk with you step by step to get what you need. hope this helps

If your display worked for six hours, then maybe there is no fault in the display. The jack, which connects display to the board may have been broken or got loose. You should surely give it for service. As the service cost wold not be too high even if they have to change the display, it would cost you around 40 to 50 USD.

you have a damaged screen. they generally go black when they have been cracked and the liquid crystal has leaked. the LCD can be replaced, but if it also has a tired battery, it is probably not worth repair. If you want to replace the display, you need the correct tool to remove the screws from the chassis internally, and the new LCD can be purchased from http://cellink.com.au/products/ They have the tools and parts to repair just about any phone. Good luck. A "fixya" rating for my advice would be great :)
