My Ipod just randomly shuts off when I'm using Apps or sometimes just scrolling through music. Then it just to the apple sign like the one when it starts up and is just frozen from there. This has happened before and went away for a while but now its back. Not sure if it's a bug or just being faulty.

He can use them again. Make sure that the ipod is synced under the same itunes account that was used to buy the apps.

you need to use ur own account on your ipod since you don't have the password and when you sync music Itunes will delete apps from your ipod when you are signed in to ur account and ipod and you did not buy the apps yourself.

make sure you are signed out of the App store then go to settings, general, then scroll down to reset and hit "Reset All Settings"

Hello. This is actually a very common problem with the 1st Generation 16GB Touch. It is recommended you do a system restore before these steps, but not necessary.

Step 1.
Go into Settings, and click on the General Tab
Step 2.
Set Auto-Lock to Never

This should keep it from shutting down randomly. If this does not help the problem then it is an issue with hardware.

To refresh your iPod, hold your Sleep/Wake Button and your Home Button at the same time for 10 seconds. It will close and opens up again with the Apple Logo. Wait for few seconds and your problem should work..

If not, restore your iPod to Factory Settings.

to put your own music on it you will need to download the latest version of itunes

then create a library of music in itunes and plug your ipod into the computer and sync your ipod with itunes to download the music onto it.

If the ipod has music on it already then you can just scroll through the library on it to listen to the music, if it is not music you want, then follow the above advice and you will be able to copy your own music into itunes then sync it with your ipod.

First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the left, here's how you reset:

You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.
