Hi, have a panasonic projector PT AE 500E it has a lot of blue spots which are on the screen, I thought they might have been dust spot on the lens, I have cleaned everthing I can get at but nothing has worked, the lamp has just over 900 hours on it.
I have the same problem. Tried taking it apart and cleaning everything I could and using compressed air to blow things out. Still have the problem though.I have the same problem. Obviously this is not the first lamp you have replaced in you projector. These are great projectors however, the LCD panels expire quite quickly. You will find that the spots are related to the LCD panels needing to be replaced. This is not an inexpensive maintainence solution as the panels cost about $1500 each.
Take out the air filter, get a can of compressed air and blow out the entire inside w/ the air. Do not tip can. Spray all openings w/ the air. It will work again

yes and no. it is a burn spot on the light filter on the blue lcd panel due to excessive dust and heat. panasonic does not sell individual parts of the optical engine, so you'll have to replace the entire engine. to avoid it happening again or getting worse, keep the projector cool and dust free. use canned air to blow it out.
neither. the light filter on the blue lcd panel is fried due to excessive dust and heat. you may need to replace the entire optical engine if you cannot get the individual part.
The problem here is the one of the miniature LCD screens in the unit is faulty, in this case its the blue one. There are three of them inside the unit RED<GRN<BLUE. The blue seems to be failing in your unit, for instance if you mix red and green you get yellow. Have a local shop service the unit and clean and refocus the unit back to factory spec's..
if the discoloration has a sharp pixelated edge, it may be the lcd panel. if the edge blends, it's the light filter (polarizer) that is burnt from excessive heat and dust. either one needs replacing.
The green is the result of the blue device failing. Happens about 4000 hours or so. LCDs can't handle the heat. Check the scaling of the image of the second projector. 16x9 vs 4x3.
Can you connect a computer (vga) signal to this projector? I'd like to know what your "white" computer screen does on the projector....example, Excel spreadsheet....
I am leaning towards these problems, a bad video card...or worse delamination of one of your LCD panels and possible polarizer burn in the optical engine.
any thoughts
I have the same problem. Tried taking it apart and cleaning everything I could and using compressed air to blow things out. Still have the problem though.
