If it's flashing on and off, then the DVD drive is the least of your problems. Check to see if there is a dual-voltage switch on the bass module. (if so, set it to 120v if you're in the US)
As for the DVD drive--> Try another reset by unplugging the power for at least 30 seconds. Plug it back in, "Bose 321" will appear and disappear from the display, and then press the eject button before you power it back on. Wait about 3-8 seconds. If the drive won't open, it will probably need a repair.
$150 for repair w/ new warranty through Bose- 800-367-4998.
1. Insert a DVD which does not work due to region code error, then 2,.- Press right arrow
3.- Press up arrow
4.- Press Shuffle Button
5.- Press Stop Button
6.- Press and HOLD Mute Button
The tray disc will open and the will close.
Thats all....the Bose DVD media will be Multiregion....
your problem is very easy just open the unit and replace a new one lens or maybe if you dont understand just text me and i help you without any cost 09202838700 [email protected]
if will not read a laser lens cleaning disc , then it will need to be opened up and the laser lens will need to be cleaned manually with the cleaning solution and a cotton tip , but do it easy and dry the lens with the cotton tip
if that don't do it then the laser mechanism will need replacing
This can happen if the disc has been put in upside down accidentally, if both sides are highly reflective (e.g. blank recording discs). If so, you need to get the system to eject the system before it attempts (and fails) to read the wrong side of the disc:
On the back of the Acoustimass module (sub woofer) is a power switch. Use this to the turn the system off and wait 30 seconds. Switch it back on, the media centre flashes up "Bose 321" - press the eject button firmly once as soon as this disappears. If this works, contact Bose with the serial number from the media centre to see if the system needs a (free) software update (a disc they send in the post) - just in case the system is having general disc reading issues.
However, it may be that the drive has failed - it's a mechanical part in a mass produced system so this is not unreasonable, just disappointing. But because you have bought a premium system, the company will rush to help you - call them for a repair and explain you need the disc back urgently. they'll probably arrange an urgent, fast turnaround repair....
I love my Bose 321 DVD system, but a few days ago, it started acting weird. I put in a DVD, and it reads - "No Disc".....and I'm not sure why. I cleaned the disc, and I also played a DVD/CD Maintenance kit - I'm not sure what is wrong. It seems like I have a problem within the system - what can I do?
This was great advice!!! It worked and the DVD has been removed!!!
