My nx7300 is not booting up. I have some lights that go on and the fan is running, but no screen, and no keyboard functions. The battery is about 1.5 years old

Hi
Try resetting the ram, ie remove battery, press on button a few times to de-enrgise system then remove cover under laptop (Be very careful not to lose the tiny screws) gently ease ram stick(s) out then replace. Ensure the battery charger is also plugged in as you may have very low battery.

Cheers cbacer

Once the battery is removed, there is no need to do anything else but put it back together and turn it on. RAM doesn't hold memory without power.

Acer m5 481pt won't start. screen black, keyboard lights, fan turns on

Remove the battery and the adapter into the wall. When you boot up hold F10 or F12 (if one doesn't work, alternate).

Failing that, it could be a disk or other hardware failure, and you're going to need to take it in to be serviced. Good luck!

I switch the power on power light comes on fan starts as if to boot then nothing, no screen and no keyboard lights

Does BIOS messages appear, or is the screen absolutely black?
If you see BIOS messages and then black screen, you should go to BIOS and choose your boot devices correctly. If there is no screen do the following tip:
1) Turn off the laptop.
2) remove the battery.
3) click and hold power button for about 30 seconds to discharge the circuit from motherboard.
4) then install the battery again
5) and click power button.

See what happens. In many cases it helps.
If there is still black screen, you should check your laptops RAM. In many cases removing and then installing back the RAM helps.

Laptop keyboard doesnt work, extensa 5220 laptop . keyboard keys do nothing, boots up fine , and mouse functions fine, can get on facebook , but cant type anything.

Either something got spilled in it or the connection ribbon got jossled lose. The top power bezel should be in with clip snaps. Remove it then the keyboard should pop up after you lightly squeeze the sides in. Look under the keyboard there is a ribbon that connects with a lock snap. Lightly push the lock clip up and push the ribbon back in and snap the clip back on. Do not put it all together yet try booting it apart and try the keyboard. If it still doesnt work power down remove battery unplug it and finish removing the keyboard order u a new 1. They run around $20 brand new.

Compaq CQ50 laptop powers on, but does not boot. Black Screen Lights on keyboard, lights on power jack port. White power light is on the power button. Fan Runs and the DVD runs but no response from DVD. No...

I'd try messing with the memory. Try booting one single stick in each of the slots.

I've noticed that this happens pretty frequently with certain hp / compaq models.

If you've already tried that you can try removing the cmos battery for 5 minutes but aside from that the motherboard has probably gone out :(

I hope it's under warranty!
