Oven Clock The clock works but the digital display is very dim. I cannot locate any instruction to adjust the brightness of the display. I assume that the "fix" will require replacement of a part; however, I have encountered a problem with identifying a replacement part. The Model Number on the oven is JTP45W0W2WW but that number is not recognized by any website search function. I have tried searching by replacing the "zero" in the model number with the letter "O" but that does not work either. Do you know how to fix this problem or find the part number of the defective part?

You are correct about replacing a part. there is no adjustment for the brightness. The control board will have to be replaced.
To look up parts for your oven you have to drop the 0 from the number. Try JTP45WW2WW. No one at GE has been able to explain to me why they put the zero in the model number when it is not used to look up parts. But if you leave it out on a warranty claim, they will reject it because the model number is incorrect. Go figure.
I looked it up on sears.com and repairclinic.com.
The part number for the original board is WB27K5301, but that will change to WB27T10292 that has replaced the original.
Post back if you have any questions.
Thanks/Mike

F7 shows on display and display getting dimmer over months

Dim display is TOTALLY independent of F7 error.
The display will dim as the display board capacitors wear out - due to the heat. Replace the capacitors on the display board (see my other posts) and your be able to see the F7 error code as bright as can be!

Oven digital lighted display is dim

You need to replace the C3 capacitor on the control board

http://fixitnow.com/wp/2009/01/28/cheap-fix-for-a-dim-display-on-an-oven-control-panel/

You can replace only the C3 - it is 68uF / 35V and you can go to Radio Shack and get their part # 272-1028 - 100uF/35V one. It takes all but 10 minutes to re-solder the new one in place

My clock and temperature display is dim

Hi, this will happen over a period of time and its just heat related. the control panel isn't insulated properly and , there has been a larger than normal transfer of heat to the inside of the control panel where the circuits are housed.

If this is a problem, i recommend replacing the control board. it will fix the dim issue.

Lighted clock and controls intermittently not working. Oven still heats

HI thanks for the question. its a common problem with the clocks. first it goes a little dimmer. then a little more till it goes so dim you cant even see the temperature that you have in the oven. the clock has to be replaced. or. buy a cheap oven thermometer. and hang on the middle rack, and adjust the temp setting to match the oven temp . save a lot of money this way. thanks. please rate my answer. thanks

Dimming temperature and clock light on display window

I found capacitor c3 (68 uf 35 volt) had leaked and dried up, causing the display to fail. I unsoldered and tested c1, c4, c7, and made sure they were good, using a digital multimeter with the ability to test capacitors. C3 also had visible signs of leakage. Works like a charm again, and the display is bright like new!
