Compuiter keeps disapearing from my computer

I work in an office with several people. We all have laptops and a wireless environment where we share a printer. What would cause my co-workers printer to be erased off his laptop when no one else in the office does? This has happenened several Mondays in a row. Other that it being deleted from his computer -is there a way that someone could cause this to happen as a joke?

Wireless... this could be because the PC is "turning off" the Wifi devices, check for this on the WIFI card properties..

I have my internet Broadband connection in my office .And I want to share this broadband connection network into my home through WiFi . But the problem is that my home is almost 1 mile away from my office...

No. Wifi has a distance of 120 feet indoors and 300 feet outdoors in a perfect environment.

Even if you were able to install wireless repeaters for the wifi you will experience many networking issues.

If you wish to share your internet you may want to look into a mobile hotspot. You can take that device anywhere where the service provider is covering.

Acer Aspire Netbook without external DVD/CD rom How to Load CD

This will work on any model or make of net-book or Laptop enabling you to load CD's or DVD s with software onto your net-book laptop especially good when the CD/DVD drive has stopped working or is non existent, there are a few prerequisites before you can carry out this operation.
1:You must be in a networked environment in your home/workplace
2;One of the networked computers must have a CD/DVD ROM available
3:The computers must have been linked in a home or a small office network
4: Printers and sharing must also be activated in that network

Method is as follows:-
On the Work-group/Home network computer with CD/DVD ROM click on Start then my computer and look for CD/DVD ROM icon.
Right click on the icon then click sharing and security enable sharing and security then restart this workstation , You will then see the shared hand icon underneath this icon representing it is a shared item after restart to confirm it is shared.

On the laptop/net-book look in my network places you will see the CD/DVD ROM available to you now all you need to do is place in the work-group computers CD/DVD ROM the required software disk and there you have your problem solved without the expense of purchasing an external CD ROM
Operate now your Net-book/Laptop with available CD/DVD icon and double click it or right click and explore choice is yours.
Look at following Pictures

I hope this explains how to do it if you have further problems let me know
Should you not have at least the above 4 listed items at the top of the page then this method wont work .I will publish another method soon for those people that have no network and only have a single net-book/Laptop with no CD capability

How To Use Your Mac As a Wireless Router

1) You need to configure your Mac (the one connected to your modem) to share its Internet connectivity with other wireless devices. To do this, select System Preferences from the Apple menu, and then click on Sharing.

2) In the Sharing window, click on the Internet tab to bring up Internet Sharing. Select Built-in Ethernet from the Share your connection menu. Then, select Airport in the To computers using list

3) Click on the Airport Option button to configure some wireless security options. You Only want to be sharing your wireless connection with Your Other computer. Enter a Network Name, select channel as Automatic, and enable encryption and enter a WEP password, which will be required to join your new wireless network. now click on Ok

4) Now your mac is acting a wireless router just connect to your network from other computers and enter the WEP key when it ask for it.
You found this to be an excellent solution when you don’t have a wireless router, but would like occasional wireless access in your home or small office.

My wife's laptop was connected to the network as were several other computers without a problem, however her office changed some settings and in the process wiped her C: drive. Now we are unable to connect...

Does the laptop have a wireless adapter. If so, go to network connections in the Control Panel and enable the adapter, Then click on "View wireless networks" click connect and type in the the security key if there is one.

Xbox live on this laptop

I assume you have a crossover ethernet cable.
put the my network places on your desktop.
right click on desktop/properties/desktop/customize desktop/tic
then on the network places icon on desktop right click/properties
right click on wireless and bridge devices
they are now sharing the same ip
be sure and remove /delete bridge when not sharing as the ip will stick forever likely.
that should do it if you need more info /open my computer and hit help and search for internet connection sharing as the firewall may need to be configured.

Printer will not network

Hi Stukie, Something you can try. Install the downloaded "newest" driver in all you PCs and laptops even if they cannot see or share with the PC print server. If you can successfully install on each PC, then you try changing the port setting of the printer on each PC. Go to Start, Printers and Faxes, Right click on the HP LaserJet 1000 (assuming you were able to install on every PC), click on Properties, click on Ports Tab, Click on Add Port, Double click Standard TCP/IP Port. A new window will pop up > Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard, in the IP Address, type in the IP add of the PC where the printer is installed, Port Name can be any name but try the Shared Name of the Printer, Next and follow all other instructions. Hope this works for you and pls post again how things turn up. Kind regards.
