Large black rectangular box continues to pop up on the bottom portion of the screen. If I hit the volume button or change the channel the box will disappear for about 5 seconds then reappear. Box covers approx. 1/3 of picture and you cannot see through it. Even appears when a DVD is on. This is driving me crazy!
Ken
On the reomte control (bottom) left of the sleep button is a cc button, push that until "OFF" appears on the screen. The close caption box should disappear. It worked for me, finally.
Ken i was reading online people were suggesting to turn cc off. I seen that i had my closed caption (CC) on. maybe it will help .i'll post if it does for me.
Go into your menu and turn off "cc" which is closed captioning,
I just solved the problem for the Sharp Aquos black box. The menu button on the remote only lets you set up the cc. The bottom of the remote has a little door, open that and there is a cc button. If you press cc, a little box will appear on the screen, one of the lines tells you the size of the box. Scroll to that line, keep hitting the cc button until it says off. I had to do it for a few stations individually, but the problem appears to be solved.
I hit the cap/text button on my tv remote, and the black box disappeared for good. Didn't hit any button on the digital remote.
Turning the CCD to Off seems to have helped. Thanks :-) Jenn
