Jvc flat screen television model AV32F713 Black box on screen.

Large black rectangular box continues to pop up on the bottom portion of the screen. If I hit the volume button or change the channel the box will disappear for about 5 seconds then reappear. Box covers approx. 1/3 of picture and you cannot see through it. Even appears when a DVD is on. This is driving me crazy!

On the reomte control (bottom) left of the sleep button is a cc button, push that until "OFF" appears on the screen. The close caption box should disappear. It worked for me, finally.

I just solved the problem for the Sharp Aquos black box. The menu button on the remote only lets you set up the cc. The bottom of the remote has a little door, open that and there is a cc button. If you press cc, a little box will appear on the screen, one of the lines tells you the size of the box. Scroll to that line, keep hitting the cc button until it says off. I had to do it for a few stations individually, but the problem appears to be solved.

I hit the cap/text button on my tv remote, and the black box disappeared for good. Didn't hit any button on the digital remote.

Black box on screen

Without a picture of it it's hard to say what you mean. Sometimes on a CRT TV the vertical scan doesn't fill the screen, but that would cause a black band both top and bottom. The usual cause is a capacitor drying out. But only a qualified tech should look into that.

Why has a black rectangular box appeared on the lower right of my screen?

You could have a couple of different things causing your troubles.
1.) it could be a bad panel itself and that would need to be replaced $$$$
2.) it could have a bad connection on the address assembly or the address board is bad. Can be repaired.$$
3.) could be a digital Video board that feeds the adddress board gone bad. $$

JVC AV-27430 27"

Go into your settings of the TV menu or there will be a single button on the JVC remote marked "CC" for closed caption. Press it or in the menu turn off the "TEXT" mode. With the text mode on you are allowing the TV to display text information wich means usually a black rectangular box that appears on the screen with no text in it. Usually on the cc button just press it until it scrolls through turning off the CC or text modes.
