GE refrigerator works intermitently

I have a GE model TBX21ZA top freezer. Works good for day or two (freezer at 12deg, ref at 34 deg) then gets warm (freezer at 40 deg and ref at 50deg). If I unplug for 10 minutes or so then plug back in, everything is ok for a couple of more days. Do you know what causes this? Have checked the coils under the fridge and they are spotless.

The temperature of my GE Model PSH23PGSD in freezer and refrigerator will not maintain 0 and 34

heat rises so if it's cold on the bottom and warm on top in freezer it sounds like you have a bad evap fan motor, when you open the freezer door do you hear the fan blowing,if not look around and hold the door switch in and see if it blows on some models fan won't run unless door is closed but if no fan you have a bad fan motor, the problem with ge is everything runs through the mother board located in the back, also i've found that the fan blade slides off or out of position on the shaft and it just doesn't move any air but you have to find out if it's the fan motor or the board, also the fridge should be set at 37 or 38 not 34,if your handy and you're going to fix this yourself,i would get both parts from repair clinic because you have 365 days to return parts, change the fan motor first if it sounds like the fan is your problem and see what happens, this way you have both parts and you can fix it that day and send back any part you don't need,if that's under 8 years i would change the fan motor,it's cheaper than the board if this is what's happening.hope this helps and good luck

Hi, I have a ge profile side by side refridgerator that heats up in the freezer, top shel and ice maker area only, will melt the ice, thaws out food on top shelf, happens intermitently, will last for hours...

First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Check cold control (thats where you turn it colder)

My refrigerator is not cooling the freezer works

We have this refrigerator and what you described is a chronic problem. (I hate this refrigerator!) Our repairman got tired of hearing from us so often and told us how to fix it ourselves! Take everything out of the freezer side and unplug it. Remove the white back part inside the freezer part. There are 2 screws at the top. The inside will be full of ice. Melt the ice with warm water. It makes a huge mess so get lots of towels. Once all the ice is melted you can put everything back and plug it in. It may take a day for it to get really cool again. My long term advice is to get a new refrigerator...

Fridge will not cool properly

You may have a dust build up on the condenser coil. You may notice the jam of the ref door being very warm. This is an indication of a dirty coil (located under your ref) that just needs to be cleaned or your fan motor in the back of the unit may have failed and stopped turning.
