Duplicate image in pink displays on the screen.

I just replaced the bulb because I thought that would fix the problem. It is worse now. When the projector displays the image on the screen, it is like there is a duplicate image of the screen offset in pink. The best way to describe it is like a pink shadow to the left of everything.

From your description, it sounds like an alignment problem. There are 3 LCD panels in the projector. Each one displays an exact duplicate image of the others except it's either red, green, or blue. Under normal conditions, the images precisely overlay one another so you get a sharp image. Due to age, heat, or vibration/shock(impact) it would appear that the red LCD panel has shifted a little, giving the "ghosting" effect. You'll have to have the unit repaired by a qualified tech. He'll have the special electronic equipment needed to align the panels properly. Before sending the unit in, try a reset in the menu. Sometimes, the projectors can shift the image electronically, using math algorithms which will try to auto-sharpen the display. Hope I was able to help!---Rick

Hi my Sony KDF-E50A10 has a yellow blob in middle of the screen. Tried changing the bulb and yellow blob was worse. any suggestions?

Your Optic blog has failed. The bulb will not fix that. There was a class aciton lawsuit against Sony about this a few years ago. The Optic block must be replaced(only posibble fix) Sony Rear Projection LCD TV

To fix it out of pocket would be ridiculously expensive($800+). Return the lamp or use it until the image is too bad to watch. Then treat yourself to a new TV.

I am well versed on this issue and would not recommend fixing this

Sounds like the digital block. This item costs 1400-1500 but I had an extended warranty (There is a recall on certain Sony TVs digital block). All cost was picked up by Sony. Check online for extended coverage on the digital block.

IXD 420U projector takes a long time to project and has pink ima

If possible, try to replace the VGA cable between the projector and the computer. A bent or broken pin, or a damaged wire, can prevent the blue or green (or both) portions of the picture from being displayed. The result is a reddish/pinkish picture.

As for the long time to project an image, this could be an extended warm-up time. How old is the bulb in the projector? Does the projector have an option to display the hours used and/or remaining on the bulb? Bulbs do have a finite life, and when they near the end of their service life, they can become more difficult to start.

Hope this helps!

Parts of my screen turn pink

The display "Backlight" is failing. The failure is most likely the bulb itself or the inverter (backlight power supply). Pink corners are the very early warning sign that the lamp is getting old, the next stages will include brightness varying, flickering and the final blow will be a black display. At the last stage if you look real close and maybe use a flashlight on the display you will see the image that is not getting lite up. Take a look here for what may be involved in the fix. http://www.irisvista.com/tech/
There are many online shops that will replace the backlight for about 100 to 200 bucks. My experence is Manufactures will tell you it can't be fixed the whole display panel has to be replaced.

This is probably the polarizing filter. It will need to be replaced. It should not cost very much to fix.

Compaq laptop pink screen sometimes

The normal cause of a pink tinted screen is that the LCD back light is beginning to fail. Kind of like a regular florescent bulb does when it starts to go bad. It may last for a while, but eventually you'll have to replace it.

When the image turns pink, we find that replacing the cable between the projector and the lap top fixes the problem.
