I had the same problem but I did two fixes for it (1) when I bought the truck several years ago the duel tank switch was pushed in but i never fixed it and just would switch tanks with the switch pushed into the dash. after awhile it acted like it didn't know what tank to draw from point is i finally replaced the switch and it ran, but still ran rough, (2) on the left side of the motor their is an EGR valve (it was green colored vacum hose) I replaced that vacum hose and now it runs great.

You can adjust the Gas cable tension to eliminate pressing the gas pedal. However, from what you described, I believed there is a problem with your Fuel Distributor not maintaining the golden Air: Gas ratio of 14.6:1. It effects your idle speed, running rough, loosing power....Good luck.

Asking about the Air control Motor replacement it means you got the message. However at idle speed, the engine doesn't need air control. The idle is set at default air : gas mixture. At this stage it doesn't need any feed back from Oxygen sensor to control the mixture. The air control and Gas Spraying control only come into play at speed beyond the idle, except for full throttle. I would not burn money on it right now.

    Do you have Fuel Injectors?

From Fuel injectors coressponding to each cylinder, trace back to a unit having the tubes tho cylinders. That is the fuel distributor. I don't have its image. One of an injector should look like this.

My ford explorer wont start

So your fuel pump is working, it could be that your starter is not. Check your starter.

Hyundai accent 2001 will not start all lights work radio works heater fan works battery in 3 months old when I turn the key all i hear is a humming sound for about 1 min. than nothing. weather has be

The humming would be the fuel pump coming on. It should only hum for a few seconds, then shut off.
Your problem is with the start circuit from the battery to the starter, or from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. Check the connections at the starter (the big cable) for tightness.
Is the battery charged up enough to turn the engine over? Check by turning headlights on and observe while someone turns key to crank. If they dim a LOT, then either battery is too low, or the starter is bad and needs removing for testing. If brightness doesn't change, then the circuit from ignition switch to starter solenoid is likely not working. Check for 12 volts at the small wire to starter solenoid with key in cranking position. If you have power there, the solenoid may be bad. Remove starter for testing. If no power at solenoid in starting position, then either the ignition switch is bad or the neutral safety switch might be the problem, or the wiring from the switch to the starter solenoid is not passing current.
Good luck.

I was driving out of a parking lot and the engine just quit and now it won't start back up, it just cranks

If it cranks strong then it's probably not the battery/alternator/starter. Check the battery terminals to make sure they're clean. Cars need 3 things to start and run: fuel, spark, and compression. If it's just cranking it might be the fuel filter and/or pump. Could also be a fuel pump or PCM fuse or relay. Check your manual to find the locations of those in your fuse panel or in the fuse box under the hood. When you turn the key to on, before trying to start it, you should be able to hear the relays clicking. If you put a finger on it you should be able to feel it click (you'll need a friend for that). You should also hear the fuel pump pressurize when you turn the key to on before starting. It sounds like a humming sound that lasts about 3 seconds. If the relays don't click, that's probably you're problem. And if they do click and you can't hear the pump, then you'll probably need to replace the fuel pump and filter. If you hear the pump pressurize then you probably have electrical or spark problem. Hope that helps!

2003 BMW 325i - Car won't start. It will crank the (rrr rrr rrr)

Get a DTC scanner and see what it says...in the meantime, check that fuel pump relay and fuel pump. The humming sound is probably the heater blower motor or part of the HVAC system winding down after disconnecting from power.

Car wont turn over when started

When you turn the key to full electrical power (right before you'd crank it), do you hear a hum from behind you? It'd be the fuel pump, and it should run for a few seconds. If it does, and you have no cranking when you turn the key, check the starter relay - if it's shot, it won't allow power to the starter, and the car won't crank. If you don't hear the hum, check fuses and relays for the fuel pump first, and if they're OK, you may have a dead fuel pump.
