Good TV for 6 plus years watching it and multiple clicks then a red blinking light. Now I have a green tinted picture. It is a good picture and good sound tried to reset and adjust color. No impact. What should I do?? Too good of shape to toss. i have some aptitude to fix but need a path to solve......HELP!!!!!
Go to the video menu and turn the color control to minimum. Determine if you have a black & white picture or is it green & white. If the picture is greenish, you have a problem in the screen circuit or possibly a bad picture tube. If the black & white is ok then I would suspect a problem in the chroma circuit such as a bad video jungle IC or a crystal. However, because your set had a red blinking issue prior to your existing condition I would lean towards the picture tube as the source or your troubles. You can try a simple test to determine if you have an intermittant short . Take the back off the set, and with the insulated end of your screw driver, very very lightly tap on the neck of the picture tube near the socket. If you see green flashes or hear loud snaps in conjunction with your taps or the green tint goes away, chances are the tube is the cause. If so, you might try installing an isolation transformer on the picture tube. Good luck
