I have had no luck with hdmi when I tried to use one on my big screen the screen went blank I just resorted to a reg cable, I think you need internet for hdmi cable

Please check if there is power to the system.
Is this a laptop or desktop?
If it's laptop see if any light turns on in the computer and or if you can connect it to an external monitor to check if the problem is the LCD display or the Video Graphics Adapter.
If it's a desktop see if there's power to the monitor and to the system.
Do you seea any message like no signal or output out of range or is the monitor totally blank?
If you can provide additional information like if it's a desktop or a laptop, when was the last time it worked if there are any indicator of power coming to the system.

It sounds like your flat vga cable has pulled loose inside the panel. Just take the lid apart on your screen assembly and press that flat ribbon cable back in and tape it in place.

Check your power adapter at the laptop make sure it isn't loose. If it isn't loose, check for a BIOS update from LG's website. Check the readme.txt file or on the website for what the BIOS update fixes to make sure that the update will fix it. I would give LG tech support a call to double check. If the BIOS update doesn't work then you have a hardware issue - the motherboard charging components maybe fried.

The screen does not work properly .Ribbon wire fails.

Usually it is the lcd inverter going bad...if you do a search for your model # and lcd inverter and see if you can find any...also you will be able to very faintly see what is on the screen althought it looks black...if that doesn't work then i may be the backlight in the lcd and a new screen may be needed.

Have you followed the recommendations on HP SITE
If the screen is blank they suggest disconnect the power, battery, and reset the memory modules.

over heated the video area in it will have to cheak video card inside or motherboard chips on it got to hot when u play games on labtops u must ua labtop cooler never set it on your bed

this is normally motherboard or powe side problem check your motherboard
