The horn has stopped working on my mercedes benz spinter van. The horn unit was replaced and the fuses are ok. The wiring seems to be fine and the contact ring and pin at the steering wheel are clean and making good contact, but there is no power to the horn unit. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I have the same fault in my 313CDI. By pushing the alarm button the horn works. Sometimes the horn worked intermittently so I suspect the wiring/ contacts on the steering wheel?
Three possible solutions. Check the fuse first if OK check the two wires on the unit, three, the switch on the steering could be faulty. hope this help.
According to the Mercedes forum, you are not alone, the alarm system goes off at random, it has something to do with the tow button, disabling the horn doesn't stop the alarm and the lights keep flashing. But the horn is quieted. I would trash the alarm system, or pay the dealer to mess with it, which is usually an expensive joke. You have insurance on the car, let them steal it. I stopped worrying about my bike, I leave the key in it. Nobody touches it. Before I couldn't leave site of it. Now, I don't care. Let them have it, I'll get a new one, Anyway, check out mercedes forum.
Horn and heater may be fuse related. The headrests have nothing to do with fuses. The switch is bad or going that way for the seat or the motors for the headrests are out.
The horn fuse spin it, or replace as corrosion from aluminum fuses cause problems. I suggest replacing them all with new copper barrel fuses. The blower motor fan is a strip fuse on the driver side strut mount in a tootsie roll sized case.
hello, good day, your fuse for horn is number 5,seems it"s ok,or try to remove your fuse box look for the wiring, color black with white stripe, check connection for good contact,ty
Your library may have the diagram. Does any speed work? If it runs on full, there is a resistor pack in the fan housing that can be changed. This unit may also have multiple fuses controlling it. Merc has a habit of building the most difficult cars in the world to trouble shoot. Good luck, sir.
