My HP laptop won't connect to the new router that i just setup. My main computer is fine. It acesses the internet and everything so i dont know what is wrong. When i try to connect with my laptop it says "Windows is unable to connect" and gives me these two other options that i have tried that DONT WORK.
What is your operating system (Vista/XP, older Windows)? Have you turned on the router's wireless router radio from the computer that is connecting? (Login to the router's setup page at 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 (depending on the router) and go to Advanced menu and click Wireless Settings.) While you are there, enable the SSID Broadcast (another checkbox hust below the one for Wireless Router Radio). Now check if your laptop can see the router.
Additional FAQs that might be helpful are at http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2589. That page has a link to setting up XP for wireless networking as well.
