When I hold the button for it to start it clicks and starts flashing F then dL It will not start washing

Hi, DL means Door Lock Failure while F is either (F80, 82,
84, 85).....
DL flashes if the following conditions occur:

• Door lid is not closed completely due to interference.
• Wash media buildup is preventing the lock bolt from extending.
• Machine/motor control detects open door lid switch when attempting to lock.
• Machine/motor control cannot determine if door lid is in a locked state.

You might not locked the door properly kindly properly door lock the machine will work properly

The door lock is not telling the control board the door is locked. You probably have a bad door switch or the wires to the door switch are corroded or broken.It could simply be a wire has come loose. Those washer do vibrate quite a bit.

Make sure you hold the start button for about 5 sec. Then Take the front bottom cover off ( 3 screws- real easy) when facing the front look at bottom right and there is a little metal switch make sure that the swith is making contact or push it back and hold it and push the start button again for 5 sec. it worked for me, hope it helps.

Your Door switch is faulty or, out of adjustment

If you give a specific model I could get a manual and see what i can find out but what i will do is direct you to the Kenmore questions line which is, (one last thing try unplugging the washing machine and then plug it back in maybe that will reset it, if you still get the error look below.)

that is the code for door lock. ensure its not stuck or something in rubber boot stopping door from closing all the way and try to reset it.
maybe by unplugging it for a coupkle of minutes

It is saying there is a problem with your door Lock. when you close the door does it hold like it use too? try to open and close the door if it doesn't really close properly then you will just need a door latch. If the machine gives you an f11 code then its the main computer board that can also give your the door lock error. I would check the door first though.

remove the top cover of washer at rear is the main control bd try wiggling the wires on front side usuually the larger wires if it works bad connections on control no fix but to replace it ..HOWEVER try shimming the plugs in place to hold them in position where it will work...possible door lock itself but control more likely
