Loading paper in fax machine

Hi my problem is the paper feeder I load paper into the feeder I use the copier to make a copy from a letter or what ever I press copy you here the noise of the machine working the paper doesn't seem to grip the rollers to feed the paper through I get a error message check paper.

It drives me mad I want to pick it up and throw it at the wall !! I don't know why the rollers won't grip the paper I use the correct paper for the machine the paper drops down to the rollers but won't grip the paper. I use about 10 sheets even tried 4 but it's the same it won't grip. it seems you need to feed the paper one at a time I can't be doing with that. I'm thinking of getting the Canon JX500 Inkjet. I have done everything I can with that Philips fax with the paper fanning out like the say it doesn't work.

I'm not sure if you can help but I thank you as you might just have some other idea before I go and get the Canon JX500 I'm at my witsend now. I shall never touch another philips product again!!

Kind regards

Relax ti mal- the rollers are not picking up the paper because they are dirty or worn out.

Try this clean the rollers with alcohol and try, are the rollers smooth or do they have a rough feel? if smooth replace and it should be good as new.

Good luck

How do i load paper?

A4, Letter, or legal-size paper can be loaded. The minimum size that can be loaded into the ADF is 3x5 in. When you load small paper sizes, place your original in the center of the tray and adjust the paper guides to the edges of the paper. When making copies, sending faxes or scanning, load your original document into the feeder, face down.

How to put the paper in the printer?

Loading Paper
1 Adjust the guides to the position for the paper size you are using.
2 Fan the paper well.
Push down the paper lever. Load the paper (with the lever down). Make sure the print side is toward the fax machine and the paper level is stacked below the paper mark. The feeder can hold up to 200 sheets of paper, or up to 10
envelopes.
Acceptable Paper
The FAX/MFC can handle paper that has the following specifications.
But please note that you can receive fax messages only on Letter, Legal and A4 paper. If you use legal or A4, change the Paper Size setting: (Menu/Set, 1, 1.)
Paper Type Paper Size
Cut sheet Letter, A4, Legal, B5, A5, Executive,
Custom size 2.75-8.5 × 5-14 inches (70-216 × 127-356 mm)
Envelopes DL, C5, COM-10, Monarch
Post Card 2.75-8.5 × 5-11 inches (70-216 × 127-279 mm)
Organizer Day-Timer® J, K, L, M 2.75-8.5 × 5-11 inches (70-216 × 127-279 mm)
Labels and Transparencies 2.75-8.5 × 5-14 inches (70-216 × 127-356 mm)

I am feeding a portrait fax letter size and it is being received partially - one half is cut off. please explain

It sounds as if the document feeder is not recognizing the proper size of paper. Try making a copy, is the copy correct or is the copier indicating to load a certain size of paper. The paper width guides as well as the raised tabs on the document feeder tell the copier the proper paper size. Could the problem be on the other end? I know I have several customers that have the paper size dials or indicators incorrect for the paper in their cassettes. This would be if only a single reciever of your fax is complaining. You may want to see if rotating the fax in the LTR-R direction works.

How to fax

Load an original in the automatic document feeder (ADF)
You can copy, scan, or fax a single or multiple-page A4, letter, or legal-size document by
placing it in the document feeder tray.
The document feeder tray holds a maximum of 20 sheets of letter or A4-size paper or 15
sheets of legal-size paper.
To send a basic fax from the control panel
1.
Load your originals. For additional information, see Load originals.
2. Enter the fax number by using the keypad, press Speed Dial or a one-touch speed
dial button to select a speed dial, or press Redial/Pause to redial the last number
dialed.
TIP: To add a pause in the fax number you are entering, press Redial/Pause,
or press the Symbols (*) button repeatedly, until a dash (-) appears on the display.
3. Press START FAX Black.
If the device detects an original loaded in the automatic document feeder, it
sends the document to the number you entered.
TIP: If the recipient reports issues with the quality of the fax you sent, you can
try changing the resolution or contrast of your fax.

I keep getting a Load MP Feeder Letter message. I can't clear what to do?

MP Feeder refers to Multi Purpose Feeder or Manual Paper Feeder or just plain bypass feeder. There should be a door that folds down to gain access to your MP Feeder tray. Try loading letter size paper on this tray.

When faxing does paper face uup or down

You load the originals print side uo on the document feeder tray or print side down on the glass.
To send a single page fax you can either load the original on document feeder tray or on the glass; to send a multi-page fax you must use the document feeder tray.

The position of the paper is the same either you copy, fax or scan.
All this is clearly explained in the user's manual, that you should read and you can download from HP support pages for you printer:
