Garage door only opens a foot from ground

My garage door only opens about a foot from the ground and stops. Press the botton againa nd it goes down, but again will only open a foot. Does the same thing with both remotes and main controller. This never happened before until I wanted to open the garage door just enough to get air inside so I pressed the botton and waited until the door was slightly opened and then I pressed the button and it stopped. Now that is as far as it will open.

Any ideas?

Its due to the gear stucked problem! you should get it repaired by the mechanic! its not any other remote control problem.

Once the garage door reaches about a foot off of the ground it stops and opens again everytime. It's not the safety laser guide. How do i fix it

Release the door from the opener and operate by hand. Does it bind or get hard to move near the point where it reverses? Increase the down force just a bit.

Hi I have a Chamberlain garage door system. I use the remote to shut the door. The door goes down to a foot off the ground and goes back up again. I've tried for over an hour to get it to shut and it won't...

The motor has probably been shut off by the thermal protector. Wait 15 to 20 minutes and it will reset itself.

If when the door reverses and goes back up, the main light flashes 10 times it is a door sensor problem. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a bit. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have a bad sensor.

Worked great the past 2 years. Now, garage door

Remove the cover and take a look at the drive gear. It is white nylon and is just in front of the motor. Most likely stripped.

Door goes up about a foot and stops

The sensors have nothing to do with your door opening. First thing to check are the door springs. One may be broken. Next remove the cover and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor. It may be stripped.

My garage door bucks like a bronco

You have a door problem. The reason the door is reversing to the open position is because when it bucks the safety senses something wrong. Release the door from the opener and operate it by hand. You should find something.

Remote does not open or close garage door; inside button flashes

What has happened is that you electric eyes are blocked or have gone out. The eyes are at the garage door about a foot of the ground on both sides. There should be a red or green light on one of them. If not some thing is blocking the beam that goes across the door. It is a safety beam so kids can nt get hurt when the door is coming down. If the beam is broke the door will go back up.
