Now and again the 'h' and 'g' and backspace keys on my hp pavilion zv5000 laptop stop working. The problem is intermitent - sometimes it lasts for hours, other times a whole day or more. The keys will eventually start working again for no apparent reason. Restarting has no effect, neither does uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard driver.
This is either the keyboard or keyboard controller. The only way to tell is to replace keyboard. (Usally found on e-bay for about 40.00) then if not the keyboard controller on Motherboard (expensive fix) so, if it is the controller you may want to try an external keyboard at least to keep using the unit at a resonable cost.

Sometimes the 1, q, a, z keys stop working, then suddenly start working again.
Recently, most of the top row of keys Q through R and U through P don't work. Also the up pointer at the bottom left corner of the key board. I have tried many fixes (reload keyboard driver, install XP SP3, Lock unlock keys, Sticky Key command, etc. but nothing seems to work. However, it seems to fix itself after the machine has been on for 30 - 45 minutes or so. Any suggestions?
when i press some keys in my acer 4720 laptop ,it'll not work .what is the solution?
If i reinstall my keyboard drive means i didn't get motherboard CD.
