Mymusix pd-6030 player

My mp3 would not start and only goes to the company's name and shut off

    Same exact problem. The player only turns on briefly displays MyMusix" then shuts off.

    my mp3 player oo sows the company name and then shuts off....i tried formatting it but as i connect it to the computer it says that it has an I/O device error...please help me out

MyMusix's PD-6030:
If you have a Windows-based computer,
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

If that fails,
Check the battery polarity. (+ and - must be in correct psoition)
Set the hold button to the unlock position.
Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes ,format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format
If that fails,
go to www.mymusix.com to see if the latest software update will correct the problem

MyMusix PD 6030 persistently displays flash error! please backup the data and format the player. This happened after I tried to replace an existing playlist with a new one.

I would recommend you do back up your files to the computer and then format the player.


Q: How do I format my PD-6030?
A: There are various way to format the PD-6030.
With Windows XP, go to Start, All Programs and select 'My Computer'. Then see if there is a device called an 'Audio Player' listed there. If so , open the Audio Player and right click the item named 'Internal Storage' and select 'Format'. Once the format is complete, unplug the player and turn it on. Once it turns on and says 'No Files' plug it back in to your PC and add the music back to the player.
With older version of Windows, the player will show up under 'My Computer' as a 'Removable Disk'. Right click that and select "format'.

What is a I/O error

Start --> Control Panel --> Printers and Other Hardware --> System --> Hardware --> device Manager - see if there are any yellow exclamation marks by the player and follow Windows troubleshooting

If the fails, you will need to restore the player's firmware - the instructions are too long to post here, but they can be found at www.mymusix.com on their pd-6030 page - click-by-click with pictures - very detailed.

MyMusix PD-6030 MP3

The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes ,format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format.

You can also format the player in Windows Media Player tiself.
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

You may also want to check www.mymusix.com for any firm updates - the above procedures in some cases undo the original formatting on the player, and a firmware upgrade will be required to replace the Mp3 player's formatting.

EQ setting
Select from "Normal, Rock, Jazz, Pop, Classic, Bass" .
You can also select "Exit" to keep the original settings.

For "password" question - there is no password, the lock on the player has simply been engaged - slide it to the unlocked position. See manual for details.
