Mitsubishi WD-73736 Television Logo

I have a big screen tv, about 8 to ten years old. We started to lose the picture, but could restore it by running a fan behind the unit. Lately, the picture will not turn on, even with the fan. Is it worth fixing? We purchased it for very little from a neighbor.

The unit is likely VERY VERY dirty..which makes the unit overheat and also generate a weak picture...as well as stress the lamp. It is probably not worth fixing if it will not turn on at all anymore and you have little money in it. Parts could be very hard, if not impossible, to find.

TV loses picture

Sounds like your picture tube or bulb is going out. It depends on what kind of tv ( rp, lcd, plasma) it could also be a component issue.

Our Mitsubishi WD 52525 goes to blue screen and shuts off.

It sounds like you TV is overheating and the video is suffering and the lamp is overheating as well. Also, if your TV is over 2-3 years old, the mirrors (behind and below the big front screen) desperately need to be cleaned. Clean all filters and fans as well. (Look on side and behind the unit). Is the TV in a "hot" environment and/or dirty environment? DLP TV's are NOT sealed units. They need to be cleaned every few years to work well to have a good, clear, bright picture.

I lost my color on my tv

If the cable was an SVideo, it's possible you might have a broken pin. Losing one of the 4 pins would still give you a picture but it would be in Black and White. Check both ends of the cable and if one is missing, get another SVideo cable.

I have a teac plh4220sd and is about 18 months old. recently the picture quality started to degrade and yesterday completle lost picture but still have sound, is there anything that can be done

Hi I have the same problem and fixed it by running a fan behind the TV I think the Plasma screen runs to hot.
The fan completely fixed the screen if you feel the top of the TV you can see how hot it gets running a fan behind the set keeps it cool.
