Question about Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Full Version for PC
I just installed MS Office Enterprise 2007 on my Vista pc, but am unable to print a document from Word 2007. I can print from all other programmes in Office 2007 but not from Word. I have downloaded the latest drivers for my brother printer. Already installed on my pc was MS works word processor, could this be causing a conflict as i can print a word document when using this programme.
I dont just want to delete Works as it was pre installed and if I do this I will only be left with Word 2007 and I wont be able to print using this programme.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Ian
I had a similar problem. When I set up Vista I created an Administrator account, then set up my everyday user account. After hours of tweaking settings and re-installing printers, I realized that I could print from Office 2007 from my admin account but not from my user account. Of course, the error messages in no way indicated a permissions problem - they indicated I had a printer problem or a driver problem. Anyway, as a test, I granted my everyday account Admin status and now I can print fine. I had to sacrifice some security just to be able to do a simple thing like use the printer. Oh well, maybe "Windows 2057" will fix everything....

I had the same problem with my Brother MFC-640. I installed the new driver, but it wouldn't print from Word 2007 and would print from other programs and the Internet. I was the able to fix it the following way in Windows Vista/ Office 2007:
1. Go to Control Panel
2. Set the printer as your default
3. Click on the printer properties
4. Under the "Advanced Tab", click on the "Device Tab" button
5. Click on "Quick Print"
6. Turn the Quick Print setup on and make sure the 2 boxes are selected
Problem fixed!

If you have Vista operating system, and you connect to printer via USB and After you've downloaded all the necessary drives, and find that Excel printed but not Word, Here is how I fixed my problem: Control Panel; at Hardware&Sound click on Printer; right click on the printer that is your default printer; click PROPERTIES; then click on ADVANCED then choose PRINT DIRECTLY TO THE PRINTER; Apply; Ok; worked for me. goodluck!

Turn off Turbo Boost on advanced systemcare 4 if you have it, because it disables 'Print Spooler' process which you need for your computer to access your printer properly.

I had the same problem but I found the solutio:
In the control panel choose the options from the printer en set it to print directly to the printer whitout the use of the holding line.

I have the same problem as above. I can only print from notes and no other program. I have a brother dcp-115c. I will install office 2003, no problem there.

I have the same problem:
Dell Inspiron 1520
Windows Vista
Word '07
Brother network printer
It seems I can print a few times but then I shut down and log on or switch users or something and Word can't find the printer. I have to reinstall it in Control Panel. Trying to select the printer with the Office Button/Print yields the message:
"The active directory domain services in currently unavailable"

SOURCE: Unable to print from word 2007
you are going to have to UNINSTALL all of office first and even the LOCKED version of word.
The locked version of word will not allow you to print.
Also after uninstalling office and the locked version of words, then you reboot, then reinstall office 2007 ONLY!
do not download the locked version of words.
if you want to try uninstalling the locked version of word first and see if it works, if not you gong to have to uninstall everything that has office!

Ive tried re installing it twice and always have the same problem,
Ian
Thanks will try that later.
I have found (by complete chance) as I was trying things, that if I open the print dialogue window,(ctrl+p) then click on printer properties to open it and then without altering anything close the window agian the word document will then print. Wierd. I will try your solution later this evening. Thanks Ian
I tried uninstalling my printer and the problem is still there just as before, but if as before, I open the print dialogue window,(ctrl+p) then click on printer properties to open it and then without altering anything close the window agian and click ok, the word document will then print. This is so frustrating. After clicking ctrl+p if i then click the find printers button the following message pops up..."The active directory domain services is currently unavailable". ould this be a clue to what is happening? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes my printer is set as the default printer. It will now print but only if i open and close the properties box, which is a bit of a pain.
Ian
Thanks for trying. If I get any joy later I will post to let you know.
Ian
I have a wireless printer with the same issue. If you use quick print to notes it will print. Though it will add the header and trailer dialogue on the document.
Ive still not found a solution to my difficulty, but i am still able to print if I do the steps outlined above. Do these steps work for you?
Ian
Yes, but not the same luck with opening properties - mine won't print regardless.
Same error message: Active Directory Domain Services unavailable.
Will print a test page, but not out of office 07.
i have the same problem with windows 2007 i have done several pieces of of work but am now unable to print. I will try the solution i have just read, here's hopeing ! !

I have had the same problem, ie. able to print to HP OfficeJet G85 network printer by all other applications except Word 2007. Have just re-added the printer and it did not mention that it had another version of the same printer as I would have expected, so assumed the printer had been set up independent from the already existing printer...and now able to print from all apps including Word 2007 - yay!
However, cannot find any way to delete the previous version of the printer from this computer. Very strange, but by choosing the dodgy printer and selecting Delete Printer, it deletes the new version. So, of course, try deleting the dodgy version again (after it deleted the new version), assuming that it must have linked itself somehow to the new version and now the new version is gone, we should be fine...but the old version refuses to budge and won't even allow access to the Properties for the old version.
All computers using this printer via the network are running XP Pro SP2, but have either Office 2003 or Office 2007 apps. Only Word 2007 has had a problem - very odd. I should mention that the printer is not actually a network printer. It is, in fact, connected to a client computer and access is shared to others on the network. Maybe this makes a difference, I don't know?
Hope this helps anybody else in the same boat, and if there's any suggestions for how I can remove the old 'dodgy' printer, they would be appreciated! Thanks
Unable to print from word 2007 while I am able to print from power point.

exaxtly as others
I can't print from either Word2007 or Excel2007, but nay documents I download from a pendrive ( word2002, excel2002) or internet. GERD
Could you please confirm what is meant by a "holding line" in the printer options (properties?) as referred to in Solution 3? Thanks
