Sears Craftsman Gar. door opener won't respond

I replaced a faulty wall electrical plug in my kitchen. Electrical cords were falling off. I had to turn off the electrical circuit breakers on the rear house panel to put in a new plug. After replacing the plug my 1/2 h.p. GDO wouldn't work?? It doesn't respond to the mounted or remote controls. The lights on the push button don't work. The lights on the sensors don't work. I tried the reset button without success. The push pad outside lights up but didn't work. I plugged a lamp into the same electrical plug the GDO uses and it lights right up. So I know the GDO plug is working but won't repond to anything. Is there a fuse inside the housing?? Any other suggestions?? The GDO was working fine until I changed the electrical plug in the kitchen & turned the circuit breaker off & on. Thanks!

There isn't a fuse. You are going to need to remove the cover on the opener and find out where you are losing the power. Maybe a neighbor has a volt meter you could use. I would check the power cord and then the logic board. Makes no sense but I would check for burnt or missing traces on the printed circuit board especially around that small transformer.

I pulled the emergency cord on my Sears/craftsman. How do I reset it?

I predict that you pulled the cord due to power outage. After power is restored you can reset it by having the door in the open position and pressing the wall button to open the door with the opener. It should re-engage by itself if it is properly set up.

I had to manually close my craftsman garage door and now it won't respond via the remote or the wall button. Chains move but not engaging with door.

Look for a red handle with a rope attached along the bar from the main unit to the door. Pull this handle and release until it engages the track again.

You are going to have to find where you are losing power. The most likely place is the logic board especially if you have had any electrical storms or power surges. Remove the board and check for loose or missing traces on the printed circuit.

I have 2 sears door opener the remote not workinng we re set the coadswill not open door

FIRST CHECK TO SEE IF THE LOCK/VACATION BUTTON ON THE WALL CONTROL HAS BEEN ACTIVATED. THE LED ON THE WALL CONTROL WILL BE FLASHING. - SIMPLE SOLUTION PUSH THE LOCK BUTTON AND HOLD FOR 2 SECONDS TO TURN OFF LOCK FUNCTION.

SECOND TRY TO REPROGRAM THE REMOTES TO THE UNIT - THEY WILL SOMETIMES LOSE MEMORY IN AN ELECTRICAL STORM.

IF REPROGRAMMING DOESN’T HELP TRY REPLACING THE BATTERIES IN THE REMOTES AND THEN REPROGRAM.

Electrical Problem with Sears opener

Hi there, i would suggest a break point test with a voltage test needle. Im sure that this electrical surge has torched your power supply board. this is the reason for the non operative state.
