My A/C is not blowing hard

lost part of your charge whoever replaced compressor needs to check it. should still be a warranty issue.

mcdevito75 here, Are you sure your A/C unit is designed to both give heat and A/C ?? I figure the A/C of the unit works well, just doesn't give heat, if so see your local A/C repair shop in your area, they come to the house.

This unit needs to be serviced. Try replacing the pads with the sponge like pads.Drain the old water and clean up the pan and pump area. Go down to a pool supply store and buy some chlorine tablets and add to the water. In fact, they make these tablets just for the evaporator units. There are 3 states to water, solid, liquid and gas,
. This will get rid of the smell.

The unit may be undersized,but there are other possible solutions.You can make sure you have good insulation in your attic for one.If the cool air can be kept cool longer the unit may be able to keep up.Getting double pane glass is another solution,and like the insulation will greatly lower your energy bill as well.make sure your exhaust,and return vents are open,and not blocked.The ventilation system could be undersized/clogged,or the fan may not be moving enough air through a properly sized system.There should be one speed for heating,and another (higher) speed for cooling.The outside unit may not be getting good air flow because of blockage from plant growth,or other debris.A outside unit in the shade will operate much better than one in direct sunlight.Just be sure it can get air if you place,or grow something there to shade it.Something directly over top of an outside unit will cause the air to recycle through the unit,making it less efficient.

The problem with window units and any service tech will tell you it cost more to repair than you can buy at Walmart or home depot. Unless you know someone who can charge it for you. Window units are a sore subject. A 200 dollar window unit might cost 200 dollars to charge system. SORRy rusty

Sounds like your Capacitor is bad, or you had a wire burn off compressor terminal or capacitor. Way you can check capacitor is take cover off and see if looks swollen. Make sure to turn off power before taking panel off.

We ahve a two year old Frrigidaire Freezer. every year same time it seems to correct itself(?), like self defrosting etc, and takes a long time come back to its cooling level. This is made in brazil G series. Please help.

You have either a faulty thermostat, dirty condenser and evaporator or a faulty run capacitor. Need to service soon before the compressor is damaged. Sea Breeze

Sounds like it could be a very weak run capacitor on the blower motor. Run capacitors are sized specifically to the needs of the motor. When a run cap gets weak, the motor trys to compensate for it by drawing more power. More power draw = more heat in the motor, then the motor will overheat and shut off to protect itself. When the motor cools off it will automatically restart and run until it overheats again. Keep in mind that I am a technician that normally diagnoses equipment in a hands on manner. There are many practices and concepts that transcend all air conditioning systems but it is a constantly evolving industry. I live in south eastern WA and I don't see Amana units except as window units. It is possible to have something else causing this problem (faulty thermostat, failing thermal relay(if used), problem with electronic controls(if used)) there are a lot of potential variables
