If it is windows 98 you will have to have the latest service pack for it windows se I think I haven't used it for years but from what I can remember some of the versions of 98 won't let you install various cards.

I cant install my cnet wireless g router cwr-854

you should contact your internet provider for professional advice. it's most likely free and faster than asking nerds on the internet who doesn't know anything about your specific router-model ;)

Cnet CWP-854 802.11g/b Wireless Adapter enabled, but not working

AT&T requires a secure login & password generated by an everchanging private key. Be patient and allow your system to log in properly once and set the firewall to allow this connection. After that it should be easy, but, remember evry time you log into AT&T it will take a couple of minutes to connect..........................sodeep

Would like to install the adapter on a vista 64 bit pc

I'm sorry to say this but Linksys don;t have any driver made for a 64 bit computer for this adapter and that is the reason why it wont work with a 64 bit computer.......

Is there a conflict between linksys BEFW11S4 router and CWR-854 cnet router?

No problem at all. The router can function as bridge with no conflicts with other routers.
