Question about Hitachi UltraVision CineForm 55VG825 55" HDTV

1 Answer

I have a hitachi ultravision 60sx11ka

The tv is about 11 years old and now all of a sudden the bulbs will not light when the tv is turned on. I do have sound but no picture. I turned it off and on and finally it did come on. After shutting it off again it will not fire again. Any help would be appreciated.

Cory, your losing the high voltage, could be bad solder joints in the horizontal circuit, ie; driver transformer, horizontal output transistor, or the transistor and associated capacitors have finally failed. If you keep trying and it will eventually start then it`s definitely bad solder and that`s a cheap fix from any local tech.

hey there it sounds like the problem is coming from your ballast board, the ballast board is the power source to the lamp. with time this part starts to wear out and get weak your old lamp is already burning out there for it does not need that much voltage to turn on but the new lamp has not been worn out or used there for it needs the ballast to be working at 100%

hope this solution helps

Sounds like the DLP lamp failed. You can decipher the Hitachi flashing red light. That should help to be sure.

Check your door that holds the lamp assembly. It will turn of the power to the bulb if ajar at all, the switch responsible for this function may be fried aswell.
