If I press the phone to my ear with all my might, I can only hear a faint faint sound. I have the "Earpiece" volume on high. Is it somehow stuck in a mode where it expects a hands free ear bud to be plugged in, so it's not giving volume to the main phone speaker? Is there a way to reset it?
Thanks,
Scott
When you press vol up & down it will indicate "ringer ear jack." This means the phone is stuck in ear jack mode expecting a wired head phone accessory. Remove the battery then unscrew and pull out the antenna and the black plastic sleeve. Then remove the for small torx screws and carefully remove the back. Take a tooth pick to the back of the ear jack an bend the retainer pin back. Put everything back in reverse order and it should work fine.

If you have raised the earpiece volume while on a call and you are still getting nothing then your earpiece has failed and you will nedd a tech to look at it

By the way, when powering up and down, the speaker works fine, it's only when on a call that it doesn't have enough volume.
