Try getting to the BIOS by tapping the DELETE key on startup. If the display is the same, then the computer has to be repaired. If its working good in bios, then try F8 on startup and select LOW RESOLUTION MODE.If that works, than please update or reinstall the Display Drivers
Try to use the last known good configuration the issue should be fixed.. If afforadable try to get a external DVDdrive.. If not try to get one from friends.. Nothing is working.. call acer they will take your computer and reinstall the OS ....
When the laptop keeps rebooting shortly after Windows starts loading the reason is usually because the system files loaded by Windows at startup are corrupted. Windows cannot complete booting and keeps restarting. The fastest way to Fix the problem is by reinstalling Windows. If Windows is installed on the same directory of the existing system performing an upgrade installation, the setup process will preserve all personal files, most installed software and settings. Before reinstalling Windows you can try starting in safe mode (eg. on XP pressing f8 on startup). If the computer starts in safe mode, go to system restore and perform a restore to a date before the problem occurred. Unfortunately when the computer keeps re-booting ut will hardly start in safe mode. Often reinstalling Windows is the only option available.
I've had spotty luck with Windows and sleep or hibernate modes. I would suggest just disabling sleep/hibernate mode. The options can be found under the control panel under power options. While turning off the sleep mode won't help your battery life, if you ask me, it beats having to power off the laptop by pulling the battery out. If you don't want to turn it off, you can try adjusting the amount of time it lets pass before it goes to slee.
Try booting to "Safe Mode" (tapping the "F8" key on boot), or however you can get to your Desktop, click start, right click "My Computer", select "Properties", then "Advanced" tab, then click the "Settings" button under "Startup and Recovery", then uncheck "Automatically restart" under "System Failure", click "OK" then "OK" again and restart your PC.
That should allow you to run without the instant restarting on BSOD, so you can repair/remove Mcafee.
ok i know a way with windows xp , it may work with vista , just after you turn the computer on press F8 it should come up with the option to start in safe mode , start the computer in safe mode , then if u get into vista , go to user accounts in control panel , and remove the passowrd or the user , at the start u press F8 before the logo screen starts , good luck, if that dosent work you will need to reinstal a operating system , if the laptop came with a restore disk use that , it will reinstall vista , and you can start fresh , just put ur system restore cd in , start laptop, boot from cd , and away u go ,
