No sound on all sources? can you check your tape monitor switch maybe on. if you're not using an eq with it connected to tape 2 then you wont have any audio. yamaha amp has tape2 function not in your selector switch, it's a separate button only

Sounds like the aerial antenna is not connected. Check behind the unit and also the connector wherever it goes.

All input sources eg. DVD, cab/sat, cd, tuner etc have audio out of the amp ... but not the tv. Can someone help me with this one?

Have you checked to make sure the TV connection is from the correct TV output? The TV is not on mute? Recheck all connections. The amp obviously works ok.

Connect with componet cables.

The only digital audio input for this TV will be via the HDMI input. Of course, even with HDMI in, you're only going to get a simple stereo output from the TV. You can use the analog L & R audio inputs for a very similar sound from the TV speakers.

The digital multi-channel audio (Dolby Digital, THX, 5.1, 7.1, etc) encoded in the program should be connected to a suitable multi-channel amplifier with either a TOSLINK (optical), RF (coaxial) or HDMI cable for theatre-like sound. This can be done by (a) cabling from the source (DVD, BluRay Disk, Set Top TV Tuner, etc.) directly to a multi-channel amp and speakers, or (b) from the HDMI output of these devices (DVD, BluRay Disk, Set Top TV Tuner, etc.) into one or both of the TV's HDMI inputs. This will provide only stereo sound output from the TV speakers. You should connect the TV's TOSLINK optical "Digital Output" jack with an optical cable to the amplifier's TOSLINK optical input jack to obtain theatre sound.

To listen to the program shown, you would select the amplifier input assciated with the optical, RF or HDMI input that is connected to the source (DVD, BluRay Disk, Set Top TV Tuner, etc.) if connected directly. If the TV HDMI input(s) are used, they are output to the TV optical output and should be connected to the amplifier optical input. The amp input associated with the optical input should be selected to hear the program with theatre-like sound.

Hi I just bought 1080 blueray recorder and 6500 samsung tv.hooked up dmi cables to tv to denon amp and blueray to tv .had great picture and sound from denon amp.now can only get sound from tv.not sure...

Check your Denon amplifier with other input such as, input from ipod sound to amplifier or any source that provides sound to your amplifier. If you have a built in tuner in your amplifier, Does the sound comes out? If it does then check your dvd setting, e.g 5.1 channel surrounding etc. If there is no sound from amplifier, check your amp with qualified service tech.

I just purchased a Yamaha RX-V465 AV Receiver, and I cannot get any sound out of it except for when I have Tuner selected. I have my OPPO CD/DVD player hooked up via HDMI and via the stereo analog audio...

Also the test tone is working OK (Setup / Speaker Setup / Test Tone)? Have you used automatic speaker setup with the supplied YPAO microphone?
For HDMI, you need to configure the receiver to "take" out the audio from HDMI. Go to Setup / Function Setup / HDMI / Audio and select "Amp" to route the audio to receiver, or "Amp+TV" for audio to go both to receiver and to TV. You can also check in Options Menu / Signal Info that receiver has recongnized the sound and what format it thinks it is in.

Connected home cinema today and cant get sound when watching the tv

no sound out of tv?
sometimes that happens and you need to wire sound back to your tv from your amp. usually normal audio cables work.

or if you have no sound on your stereo from the tv.
you must have cables hooked up wrong or your amp is on the wrong selector eg. tuner, tape, dvd,cd. etc

No sound from cable via V665 receiver

Can't pass HDMI thru this or any other receiver with version 1.1,1.2,1.2a,or 1.2b. HDMI is riddled with issues! it's not Yamaha, it's HDMI. The current version 1.3b is working "so far" If your receiver is still under warranty, Yamaha will update the software and hardware at N/C. If it's out of warranty, Run HDMI directly from source to TV and Audio to your receiver via optical or digital coaxial. For more info than you can process, google "HDMI forums" and there are over 73,000 posts/sites/etc. If you need further info, post a comment and I will be glad to help.

Hooked up to sony bravia 52" tv and can barely hear sound

You'll want to turn of the TV speakers in the Remote Menu and try turning up the volume level of the TV, which usually controls the level of the RCA outputs, as well
