I have a popup on my Samsung 710N screen almost all the time. Is is a small box with BRIGHTNESS 100 on it. The box is white with a light blue inner band and black outer bank with an orange line showing it is 100.
I can't get rid of it. Sometimes it will blink off for a couple of seconds, then back it comes. Sometime it will stay in the middle of my screen. Any suggestions?
I browsed through the manuals and was unable to find which button is there to set it correctly.
Hello! i have syncmaster 933 having brightness 100 popup problem!
I found the best solution for it by tear down it and found a connector that connects these buttons and main board i just disconnected it making sure that the monitor is turned ON.
These buttons WONT WORK IF U DO SO BUT NO POPUP PROBLEM WILL BE IN FRONT OF YOU

Well i had the same problem, but i've done one tricky thing. I took a toothpick and thrustred it under the button with sun drawed on it. So this pop up disappeared. If i need to set brigtnes down itake toothpick out and then place it back, when brightness is 100%. after that i use down button to choose correct settings... :)
Put any other monitor on you pc and it will work. This is a monitor problem which Samsung should fix - not your computer, not Windows! Where is Samsung support?????

Hi ya does the controll work whilst this message is on the screen.
Have you tried taking the batterys out of the controll switching the telly off at the wall wait 10 minutes and then switch it back on without the batterys in the controll doing this will let me know if the controll is the problem or the telly itself.
So give it a try take batt out switch telly off for 10 min leave batterys out of controll switch telly on and let me know what happens then ok speak soon
1.If you have a manual see if you have any type of reset
to factory settings
2.Go into the picture menu set to default all settings
if this dont work...
its a glitch in the microprossor some data
line at a wrong level may have to dagnosed at
service center with Digital scope to catch the glitch

Your're saying your picture menu does not have
an option to set all the settings color,tint.contrast,
bright, etc like a preset where it changes all
settings at the same time
if this is the case set the brighness to zero
all the off turn the set off for a few seconds
turn it back on raise the brightness back up
and see if the popup is still there
I am assuming that brightness 100 refers to brilghtnss 100%
or full all the way to the end if the brightness isnt at 100%
this popup either refers to an error or a glitch in the signal level
of a pin on the microprocessor that can be caught using a digital
scope

the brightness should not be
cranked all the way up because
it can damage the HV system
if you have to turn it all the way
up there is something wrong
with your set ii should be fine
in the mid position if this is the
case then turn it down and see
what happens

Sounds like your "brightness" button may be stuck. try pushing it and see if it feels the same as the other buttons (should feel it "click" a bit). Also see if any of the other buttons work, because if it IS stuck, they probably won't work...

i have the same problem on my samsung 720N except that i can't even turn it off, and it isn't dissapearing. i believe it could be a flaw in the series, and it's hardly software-related as i have tried everything. =(
