HP Director software not "seeing "HP PSC 1350

I recently re-installed the HP software and drivers to go with my HP PSC 1350 all-in-one. The printer prints and the scanner works when going through the Start/Scanners and Cameras/ route, but the HP Director software does not recognise the HP printer. Does anyone have any solutions on how to get the software to see the printer?

The scan button on the printer does not trigger the scanner software on the computer either.

    hp psc 1350 is installed under driver hp 1300 series. Printing works fine, but does not recognize I have a scanner.

    I have the same problem. I had a disk crash, used the restore disk, reinstalled from the HP CD. When I try to run the scanner through the HP Director, It fails saying the psc is not connected. It is, of course, connected and runs fine through Windows XP imagers and scanners Wizard. I have been on HP support chat three times with umpteen uninstalls and reinstalls, downloads etc. No soap. I thought it might have something to do with the IE 7 but I downloaded the fix for that. No help either. Somehow, I think IE 7 is interfering with the connection, because befor the hd crash the SCANNER WORKED FINE through HP Director!

    I push the scanner button and nothing happens, so how do I get this fixed I do not want to buy andther printer scannner

Introduction A full feature software and driver package for Windows Vista is not available for your product. However, the Windows Vista operating system installed on your computer contains a basic driver solution for your product. With the basic driver, the buttons on the product do not function and some of the advanced product features are not available. But you can still print, scan, and import and view images on a memory card, using the workaround procedures in this document. Use the following instructions to install the basic driver in Windows Vista, and then review the workaround procedures to use the available features for your product. Installing the printer driver When you connect the product to the computer, Windows Vista detects the hardware and automatically installs the correct driver. A notification lets you know when installation begins and when it is complete. You do not have to download any software or insert the product CD.

  1. Turn the product on.
  2. Connect the Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable to the printer and to the computer.
  3. A Your devices are ready to use window might display on the screen. If the window displays and does not close automatically, close the window.
Workaround procedures The basic driver in Windows Vista is sufficient for several functions. You can print from a software program, scan documents, and import and view images on a memory card. Printing Use these steps to print from a software program.
  1. Open the document to be printed in the software application in which it was created.
  2. Click File , and then click Print .
Scanning Use one of the following three methods to scan a document. Method one: Scanning with Windows Photo Gallery

Resetting a Hp printer means switching off the machine, removing the cartridges, disconnecting the usb cable and the power chord, leave it off for few minutes then restarting it again without usb cable connected to it and without cartridges installed. You need to press the power button while it boots up. Leave it one for few minutes and again turn it off. Reinstall the cartridges and plug in the usb cable, again Power On the printer. That's all.
But there's another thing when you say all lights are blinking/flashing, there is chance that there's an internal faulty. Clean the cartridges contact point and the contact points on the printer. If possible, clean the printer thoroughly, including the waste ink tank. This will let you help find out the culprit.

Please verify your equipment is in the Windows compatability list (search same for link). If listed or not, you will find instructions there. If not listed, visit HP at www.hp.com/suport for a driver. They may or may not support this device. You can always make a special request for support. If enough people demand it, they will support it if possible. There is the possibility of a 3rd party driver from ?

Alternatively, you can return your old computer to service and make it a print server with your printer attached on your network.

I just fixed this problem on my husbands PC. Just click this link & download & install this critical update. I found this on a forum:

For some reason, I had to get the HP 4.0.1 software via Apple Software Update manually for my PSC 1350 all-in-one.


Maybe that will point you in the right direction, seeing as the HP site doesn't have a specific osx10.0 driver listed yet.

i cannot re-install my hp 1350 all in one scanner. i have uninstall and re-install the printer driver was unknown. how can that be possible even i dont have the cd that comes with it.
