Black spot in bottom of tv

Mitsubishi 62 in DLP hdtv has 2 small black spots on bottom of screen and think maybe my son could have sprayed water on it. Not sure since could not find any evidence of water but the black spots are not going away. what could it be from and can it be fixed? we just bought this tv and is still under warranty.

I just had my caps replaced and after the tech put it back together there was a spot. He tok the screen off and cleaned the mirrors around the bulb and the large mirrors(they were reaaaalllllly dirty. It did brighten up the picture and it looks crisper, oh and the spot was gone.
P.S.. Like nettiser stated. If it's unde warrenty have them do it. If you drop something "you will be pissed" if you don't !

Don't try to solve this by doing anything that would void the warranty. Call the seller and request a warranty call service. It may need to be replaced.

There is a piece of foam that comes loose by the lens and blocks it. You need to take screen loose to access it. This could be your problem

    This is a Warranty issue, Nettiser is right, do not do anything that may void your Warranty.

There are two round caps on each side of the housing behind the screen held in by a single phillIps head screw. Remove one of them to expose the interior which houses the projection bulb and the mirror. Take a large microfiber cloth and attach it to an extendable duster handle, and wipe of the bulb. That should eliminate the spot. To bring back your original picture, wipe the projection mirror on the back of the housing off, also using the microfiber cloth. The whole process will take no more than 10 - 15 minutes. Enjoy your brilliant picture, again.

My tv has black splotches or pools on the bottom

If the splotches are a shawdowy black and look like mold growing between the Lens, its most likely dirt or water spots on the bottom of the large mirror. I cleaned mine and missed a few water spots on the bottom of the large mirror and the splotches (spots) showed on the screen. Other than Dirt, or water spots, There is nothing else that I can think of that would cause this. Unless the Someone has cleaned the screen and it soaked up between the lenes. But it Takes about 30 minutes to disassemnble, give it a good cleaning and put it back together.

My daughter threw water on my lcd tv and now there is a black spot at the bottom of the screen. How do I fix this?

There is no solution but to replace the LCD Panel. However, the cost of the LCD Panel is more or less the amount of a new set...

Green spots

Good Day;

It sounds like the TV has foreign objects on the tubes, lenses or inner-screen, such as dust or bugs.l Remove screen from the front and observe.

If it were a TV problem the spots would be near the center of the picture.

Good Luck.

Dark spots on tv

I have the same TV, and I was getting the black spots on my screen as well. It is dust settling on the bottom mirror. Yoiu can call Mitsubishi and spend 150-200 on getting it cleaned, or you can do like I did and take the front panel off and the 10 screws around the edge on the back of the black plastic border around the screen. Then lift up gently and have someone hold the screen for you and gently dust the bottom mirror. I did this by myself, but it would be wise to have 2 people do it.

dirt internal to the tv. suggest taking the screen off and removing the small rectangular panel in the middle and spraying off LCD panels located under metal fins. this should fix distortion.......for now.
