My ProBook 4710s won't turn on it has a blackscreen. how can i fix this?

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

Acer laptop 5551 wont charge

The solution to your problem lies in one of the following three areas:

1.) Your charger is faulty and is therefore not able to pass power to your laptops battery.

2.) The charging connector on the laptop has come loose from the contacts. Therefore a bad connection.

3.) Your battery is faulty.

I think possibility 2 is the most likely, although you will have to test possibility 3 by removing the battery and plugging in your charger and seeing if the laptop powers on.If it does power on then that rules out possibility 1 and 2 leaving a faulty battery.

Dell inspiron M5030 won't charge, green light is

This is a common problem. It may be that the charger is dammaged. these Dell chargers have a micro thin communication cable in them that tell the charger to charge the battery. this micro thin cable can often break. Its use it to prevent the laptop battery from over charging, but if it breaks or becomed broken inside tha charger cable, then the laptop simply won't get the charge signal and the battery won't charge. If this is the case, then you will need to replace the charger with another Dell charger compatible with your laptop

Macbook pro resets every time it runs out of power

Your laptop contains a small battery (aside from the regular battery) that saves CMOS information like time/date and a few other settings.
When your computer loses all AC/battery power, the settings are reset to factory.

You'll need to replace this battery, normally it is a regular disk battery that can be purchased at any hardware store.
If you're not tech savvy, you can have a professional technician open up your macbook and it won't cost much more than $100.

My laptop won't charge even it is plugged in.

Hello, I am the technician that will be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.

Welcome to Fixya, Loue Benison.

The solution to your problem lies in one of the following three areas:
1.) Your charger is faulty and is therefore not able to pass power to your laptops battery.

2.) The charging connector on the laptop has come loose from the contacts. Therefore a bad connection.

3.) Your battery is faulty.

I think senerio 2 is the most likely, although you will have to test senerio 3 by removing the battery and pluging in your charger and seeing if the laptop powers on.
If it does power on then that rules out senerio 1 and 2 leaving a faulty battery.

Take care!

My Dell Inspiron 15R fan is not working....the laptop gets overheated due to this & shuts down after 15-20 minutes. The laptop has exceeded its warranty period.I had bought the laptop in May 2010.

When the CPU overheats then it will shutdown (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down.If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes this problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged withdust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use acan of compressed air to do this.

I have Samsung NP-R505H laptop. My laptop won't

You say it isn't charging, but will it run off of AC power? If it isn't getting *ANY* AC power, then it might be the female end of the power jack on the laptop. If it will run on AC, the culprit is likely to be a battery that needs replaced.

Laptop switch

If the switch is faulty and this is very unlikely then you need model number so you can order the switch. Servicing laptops is not all that different from desktops - just smaller and more of a pain. You may want to remove the battery, unplug the system, then reinstall battery and plug it back in to see if you get anything. I am assumimg from your post that you get NO power at all.
